Le Havre Suggestions

We will be in this port on a Sunday in November. Tours are being planned to Normandy, which is wonderful, been there. I planned on the Monet house and garden and it closes November 1. Any suggestions for a tour from the port? I'd love to go into the small towns, but worry that everything is closed on Sunday. Help.

Have toured out of Le Havre on 2 cruises now. Had wonderful tours both times with a lovely gentleman who knows Normandy extremely well, esp. it's many wonderful places beyond the traditional "must sees" of the beaches, Monet's Garden, etc.. Like you, I wanted to do those, but also to see some small villages, cider route, and such. Each time he offered several suggestions based on my interests and worked with me to design

excellent tours that included some places I thoroughly enjoyed. 2 of them I truly loved were the small village of Beuvron-en-Auge and the area known as Le Marais Vernier. You can google them. Hope I spelled them correctly.

He is a driver guide who knows every inch of Normandy and I'm confident that he'd be able to offer suggestions & assist in planning your day based upon what types of things would be of interest to you. Moreover, he'd know exactly what is doable on a Sunday.

His name is Patrick, email: spiess.patrick@orange.fr

I hope this helps.

Rouen is well worth seeing. I would want to do a private tour there and wander around extensively. There is a church commemorating Joan of Arc's martrydom and many interesting shops and restaurants as well as the historic cathedral. Much to see and enjoy.

I agree, a few years ago we spent a couple of nights in Rouen, and it really is a beautiful city.
