Tipping Tour Guides

We will be going on a private tour for 6 ppl in Italy. If we love the tour what tip should we give? I know tipping is not the same in Italy as the US.

We have tipped 10-15% of the trip in euros. They have always been overjoyed!!!:p

You are going to get answers that vary quite a bit.

 

We make our decision as to how much to tip at the end of the tour.We consider the total price of the tour and the length of the tour but most importantly the quality of the tour guide and the overall quality of the tour.

NEVER more than 10%. Italy and the USA are not the same! I try to follow local customs when I travel .

Yes, We are American. We have had some awesome private tours all over Europe, Turkey, Russia and we have tipped accordinally. We have had some so so ones also. These are the guidelines we have received from out TA. Everyone is different!!!
