Canal Tour - Lucky Tours

We have booked a tour with Lucky Tours for the Veragua Rain Forest including the Gondola ride thru the forest and have added on the Canal Tour.

Question: is the Canal Tour worth going on? What does it include and for how long? Or should we just stick with the Rainforest?

We did this exact tour with YLT back in March and we had a great time. Make sure your tour goes to Veragua Rain forest first and the canal tour second, since Veragua is farther away and the canal tour is back near the port. At both Veragua and the canal tour, you will be handed off to local guides who were both very good. On the canal tour, which lasts about an hour, we saw a crocodile, sloths, many different kinds of birds, lizards, and crabs. The tour guide was very good at spotting the wild life and making sure that he navigated the boat so every one would get great pictures. I would highly recommend you do both parts. At the end of the tour, ask the YLT tour guide/driver to take you to the local supermarket, where you can buy local coffee for 1 to 2 dollars less a bag than at the market by the pier.

We did not have Eduardo as our guide/driver, but we knew that in advance. Our driver was very friendly, and his driving skills were excellent, which you will find out is very important when driving up to Veragua. He didn't spend a lot of time telling us about the local area during his driving, but he did answer any questions put to him.

All in all we had a very nice day, and captured great pictures of everything. We would recommend YLT.

Enjoy.
