Ecstasy, John Heald, and my parents

Recommended Posts

I have been gone for a couple of weeks (I am sure no one noticed, but my brain was in need of some CC).

My parents went on the Ecstasy last week and had a great time. I had posted on here that I contacted John Heald about them and did the 'ask for something for free' thing. I felt like it was okay since it wasn't for me and a good deed is a good deed. He was very kind and said he would do something nice for them. I expected a free bottle of cheap champagne(which was more than fine). Boy did he do above and beyond.

I got a text from my dad once they got into their cabin thanking me for the decorations and champagne flutes. He added this photo:

Well I had to call him. He told me they had a letter from either the captain or the cruise director(I can't remember which he said and they have yet to show me the letter) saying if they needed anything to let him know. At that point I thought that was the nice thing John did, COOL!

They got home Saturday night and I just happen to live 50 feet from them so I saw them pull in and RAN next door. (I am one of those that really, really like listening about other peoples vacations). You could tell by the looks on their faces that they had a wonderful time. My step-mom started telling me about all the great things that happened and my dad shouted, while unloading the car, "don't tell her yet, I want to tell her too". So he finished and they told me that they not only got the letter, but a bottle of champagne, VIP debark, AND a ship on a stick.

At first my dad was going on and on about VIP debark and how they got escorted from the library off the ship. He said it was fantastic. They got the zone 1 tags delivered in an envelope the night before and were in shock. But then he started really getting excited...about a ship on a stick  It seems that he has always wanted one. And now he can proudly display it.

They hugged me and told me how special I had made their cruise. I started bawling. I explained that John Heald had really been the one who did most of it and he deserved the credit. They told me to please thank him(which I promptly did, and think anyone who asks of him should as well).

I just wanted to share this with everyone. It really made their cruise that I spent the time to make is special for them, and that made me feel wonderful.

WOW well done! :D I missed you but then again I have another place I get to "see" you. And I know you've been feeling kind of bla, spring in Texas brings on some strange allergies at times! :p We may be traveling with some friends next year and extended family one couple will be celebrating their 50th anniversary another their 30th and for us it's the 20th! I was planning on sending JH a note about the 50th as these folks would LOVE the little extra something special. :) Now I'm really excited to do so!!

That is way cool.

John so loves being able to do things like that. He truly loves it.

I have to wonder how long he will be able to keep up with it though the way his Facebook numbers are growing. He is almost at 12,000 !!!

We have sailed with him for years and he even called our son (with Autism) from the Freedom in the middle of the Carribbean to wish him a Happy 18th Birthday.

:)
