thank you for an outstanding review, pictorial, and I love the large font!

You have a beautiful family, and I enjoyed going on your cruise with you!

I haven't been able to get pictures to post, but when I get back from Splendor in about 3 weeks I am going to give it another try.

Great job!

didnt see it mentioned anywhere as I just skimmed thru the posts here...the pirate ship docked in San Juan is "The Bounty" built in 1960 it is the ship used for the movie "Mutiny on The Bounty" we were just in San Juan last month and I also took pictures of it

loved seeing some pictures of and around the Glory..we will be on Her in October...Thanks for your review!

Yes, the Bounty that was it. Thanks so much for filling in the gaps. I knew it was from a movie, but didn't remember which one!

Enjoy your cruise in Oct. Should be a lovely time to cruise!

Thanks so much for the kind words. As for getting photos to post, first you have to upload them to a photo sharing site. I have used photobucket and picasa (for this review I used picasa). You need to get the image code for the photo in order for it to show in your post. With picasa, you right click on the photo and "copy image address". Then, you come to the posting part of cruise critic and click on the icon that looks like a yellow postage stamp with the sun and mountains. Paste your image address in the box that pops up and your photo will show.

With photo bucket it's even easier. They give you the image code for each photo and you can just copy it and paste it in the review and viola, your photo will appear!

I'll look for your Splendor review!

Is your son a Panther? Is Mrs Ruggerio still running the theatre department there? I was also a part of the Visual/Performing arts magnet. Thanks for the great review.

Yes, my son is in the theatre magnet at Dr. Phillips High School. Karen Rugerio is still in charge of the theatre magnet. They are doing Shakespeare's 12th Night this weekend with a Renaissance fair. Were you in the theatre magnet too? DS loves it!!

Thanks for reading the review!

Oh, what a lovely story!!! Yes, fate is a wonderful thing!! However did you manage to work out where you live...Seattle and MA are on opposite sides of the country? I'm so glad it worked out for you. Twins...they are special aren't they? Are yours boy/girl or same sex?

Thanks so much for reading the review and for your wonderful comment. I am so happy that you and your DH found one another again!!

DH was the one who moved from Seattle to Boston so we could be back together (he was originally from Boston area and his family were still there as well). We had a long distance relationship by phone for 9 months before he could move back. My twins are boy/girl..17 years old. Your review is well written and easy to follow..great details and pictures. I'm enjoying it so much!:)

Incredibly entertaining and informative review!! Thank you for taking the time - I enjoyed reading it.

Thanks for the kind words and thanks for reading!:)

yes I was, C/O 95. Still try and catch a performance there when I can. Tell your son panther pride never dies. I am always at the lacrosse games.

Wow, what a small world!! We love the theatre magnet program and think it's great training no matter what field you want to go into!! I'm afraid that although our family is at every theatre performance, we've yet to make a sporting event!! Just not our thing!:)

I'm so glad it worked out for you. More and more I hear of couples getting back together after years apart!! Not sure what the moral of that one is...maybe hold onto your high school or college sweetheart!!:)

As you might imagine, I'm partial to boy/girl twins! Do yours get along well? Sometimes mine are best friends and other times they are at each other's throats, but they do keep one another company and when one is away, I know the other misses him/her.

I always thought the moral could be..always go with your first true love! And I have also heard so many stories of couples reuiniting after many years.

My twins are just like yours (best friends one moment and at each other's throats the next). They are different in many ways, have different interests and completely different set of friends. My daughter just returned from a trip to Italy with her Italian class, and while she was away, her twin brother kept saying "it's so nice without her...so peaceful and quiet" (meaning they weren't bickering), but since she's been back, he won't leave her alone...go figure! LOL! The cruise vacation will be a nice way for them to spend quality time together.

I rarely comment on reviews. I had to on this one.

What a wonderful review and a lovely family!

I've moved on to your Liberty review now!

Thanks so much for the kind comments. It's fun to write up the cruises and relive the memories!:)

I like the "going with your first true love idea"!!

Oh my goodness, I can totally relate to your twins. Last summer DS was away for 2 weeks on a school trip to Scotland. DD kept saying she didn't miss him at all, but when we picked him up at the airport, she ran up to him and gave him the biggest hug. It was so cute to see. My two are also very different, attend different schools and have different friends, but every once in a while they will hang out together, which is so nice to see!!

Enjoy your upcoming cruise!! Do you think they'll both go to the teen club? Maybe you'll do a review after the cruise so we can see photos of the twins??

Hi, Pcrum:

Must tell you -- I stumbled across your report by accident and I am so glad I did! You write an amazing cruise report and your photos are top notch. You're definitely one my new favorite 'reporters' on this site and I look forward to searching out more of your reviews.

We are regular RCCL travellers, and we love them, but I've been anxious to try Carnival too -- and your report really pushed me over the edge. The ship looks gorgeous and the food looks and sounds incredible! I especially loved reading that martini tasting you and your hubby went to ... right up our alley!

Also .. early in your report, you mentioned how you enjoy Hollybelle's reports (which I do as well) .. have you seen anything of her report on that Disney cruise she and her hubby went on? I can't seem to find it ... wonder if she's posted it yet.

Thanks again for all the effort you put into writing about your family cruise for us all -- it's very much appreciated and enjoyed!

-Tony/CT.

Pcrum,

From what I read, you were able to get your own table in the MDR for breakfast. Were you able to do this every morning?

We would like a table for 2, but assumed it was open seating.

Thanks for any info from you, or anyone that can answer.

We ask for a table for two every morning when we go to the mdr and have never had a problem. This is our one quiet meal a day, that we enjoy being alone.

I'm not the OP, but I've been waiting for Hollybelle's report, too. She's just finished her wedding and hasn't started the cruise (she's on page 30!) Here's the link:

And, I've cruised on Glory twice, eastern and western, and enjoyed both immensely.:)

Thank you for telling me this. I really thought it was completely open seating at large tables.

Would love to have own table. Do you happen to know if the dining room is open on debarkation day on the Glory?

Thanks so much for reading and for the kind comments. The reviews are fun to write and bring back wonderful memories!

DH and I toured the RCL Freedom of the Seas last fall and purchased a future cruise certificate for RCL, so we hope to try them some time in the future. Which is your favorite ship?

We love Carnival and I'm sure you will too. DH especially loved the martini tasting!!

I haven't seen Hollybelle's report here on Cruise Critic yet, but she has posted on http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=740187. The photos of the Disney Dream are wonderful...we might have to try that one too!

Thanks again for reading and for the kind words!

Yes, we've always been able to get a table for two...just ask. The one exception to this was on disembarkation day on the Miracle, when they put us with others, but on disembarkation days on other ships, it's been no problem to get a table for just two.

Did the sofa in PT cabin 1220 have the removable backs so that it could be made up into a bed? It looks like it might. We have this cabin booked along with the connecting cabin 1224 and may want to put one of the kids on this sofa.

Great review. Thanks for all the info.

Thanks for reading!! I honestly didn't do anything with the sofa cushions, so I'm not sure if they were removable or not. I was under the impression that all of the sofas can be made into beds, but I could be wrong.

Enjoy your cruise!

Just finished reading your post! I can't wait to take my first one in May!

I'm sure you will be hooked on cruising after taking your first one! Enjoy and thanks for reading the review!

Along the way to the Hard Rock, we passed the Sheraton Hotel, which has a casino. They must also have fee wi-fi because outside on the sidewalk was a line of what looked like ship crew members sitting down with their laptops. They were just lined up against the hotel sitting on the sidewalk using their computers. The post office is located just behind the Sheraton, which is where I mailed my post card. A few blocks away was the Hard Rock Cafe. DS went into the gift shop and picked out some things for friends back home and then we stopped at a few more souvenir shops in the area.

I love the architecture of San Juan, as it reminds me of Europe.

Yes, that is a Starbucks in the background!

Do you remember if the Starbucks was within walking distance of the Hard Rock Cafe? I'm hoping that they carry the city mugs that I collect.

Loving the review and can't wait to be on the glory in 26 days! :D

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. Yes, the Starbucks was within walking distance of the Hard Rock Cafe...within a couple of blocks. When you get off the ship in San Juan, you go through a large area with shops and there are people with maps there. You can pick up a map and we found the people there very helpful with directions. We didn't want to walk far at all, because it was sooo hot, so I know the two were very close to one another!!

I know this post is quite old, but I'm going back on the Glory again in a couple of months, and I saw this review, the picture, and I see me! I kind of laughed a bit when I saw it!

So funny...which one are you?

Thanks, pcrum.

I'm so glad this year old review came up again. We're cruising on the Glory in April and this is just what I need to get in cruise mode again. Although we have a Western C. itinerary, it was a lot of fun to check out your pictures of the ship and the food.
