kkosully Posted April 23, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2011 My family and I just got off the EOS today. A quick summary. Ship was in good shape some wear n tear but no more than any other ship that I have been on. Some funny smell on the 4th deck near the Centrum. Dining room food and service was very good. WJ is what it is..very average. Rum Runners. I was able to sneak on 2 small, 2 medium and 1 large. No problem at all. I did have them well hidden in my suitcase. In one of the ports I picked up a case of water and walked right on with it. No issues there. I did notice some people had checked them in at the time of boarding and it made it to the room as I saw them stacked in the hallway. Overall a very good time. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
rotty2 Posted April 23, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2011 Glad you had a good time.We are looking forward to our cruise on her this summer. Did you have any plumbing issues? I have recently read about problems with the toilets and having no hot water in the cabin. That is really our only concern. We will be on deck 3. I have no doubt we will have a great time. Thanks
kkosully Posted April 23, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted April 23, 2011 Rotty, I was on Deck 3 cabin 3540 and we had absolutely no water problems, other than the hot water dial was some what sensitive. The shower and teh toilet worked great.

wrkfire911 Posted April 23, 2011 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2011 we returned off the EOS on 4/2...we were in the Royal Family Suite deck 8 aft & we had the toilet issue a couple times but it was nothing major...I also read about this alot prior to our trip...in our room on a couple different days you would push the button to flush and it just didnt..one day it was probably 20minutes later before WHOOSH! down it flushed so just a delay for us but not an all day thing as I had read in the past as the OP said "some funny smell on the 4th floor in the Centrum" THAT would be the sewage smell...it occured on our trip several times..coming from different areas of the ship but mostly it was strongest in the Centrum area...one day it was SOO bad on the 5th floor around the pursers desk & casino it almost made ya sick ! plenty of fresh air on the pool deck though!:D

Philly Steve Posted April 23, 2011 #8 Share Posted April 23, 2011 Thank you for the review. Did you attend the Roll Call Meet & Mingle?
kkosully Posted April 24, 2011 Author #9 Share Posted April 24, 2011 The entertainment was good.Bobby Collins was a guest comedian that they had one night. He was very funny. The musicians in the lounge were ok but after a few nights it gets a little repetitive. I did attend the meet and mingle roll call. There were 25 people there or so. It was a nice to meet some friendly people. My wife even one a bottle of wine.
elhenry Posted April 24, 2011 #10 Share Posted April 24, 2011 just off Enchantment today and had the delayed flush in a GS on deck 8. It was amusing to hear the ghost-flush 20 minutes later. It looks like this may be a deck 8 issue? Cincinnati Gal, our cruise age group was unique because it was spring break for elementary middle and high schools. 900 plus kids! Entertainment was heavy on the comedians and magicians and El Gaucho, who is hard to describe. Loved the New York Vagabonds, a vocal group, particularly the a capella concert in the Centrum. Went to the first ten minutes of Meet n Mingle, nice door prizes, had to leave for trivia! (I may have started the roll call thread, but I do *not* miss progressive trivia....) el henry
bus man Posted April 24, 2011 #11 Share Posted April 24, 2011 El Gaucho is still around? He was there when I sailed the Enchantment back in 2006! (Assuming, of course, it's the same guy.) He had this act where he had balls tied to strings, and he would have someone stand in front of him, and he would swing the balls around in such a way as to mat down the guy's hair. He scoped out the audience to find someone with suitable hair, and picked an Asian man whose hair kind of stood up. I wondered if the man was a plant, as opposed to just a random passenger; but either way, it was a great performance, watching El Gaucho flatten the man's hair without ever hitting his scalp. CincinnatiGal Posted April 24, 2011 #12 Share Posted April 24, 2011 I too have seen El Gaucho and he is pretty good. Look forward to seeing our entertainment in October. Your comments on the teenagers and school age passengers was good. I think when I travel in the fall it will be mostly seniors. I am still a rather hip fifty yr old! LOL. Not ready for retirement yet!
dmwnc1959 Posted April 25, 2011 #13 Share Posted April 25, 2011 as the OP said "some funny smell on the 4th floor in the Centrum" THAT would be the sewage smell...it occured on our trip several times..coming from different areas of the ship but mostly it was strongest in the Centrum area...one day it was SOO bad on the 5th floor around the pursers desk & casino it almost made ya sick ! eek::D    Seems this is getting worse? Have been reading reports/complaints about this for months. Is Royal Caribbean doing anything about this sewage smell? Especially since it is penetrating common public areas like the Centrum? elhenry Posted April 25, 2011 #14 Share Posted April 25, 2011 I don't see how it is getting "worse". The folks who insist it is sewage were on the ship last month, those of us who just debarked either smelled nothing (me) or signaled it as "funny" (I assume most folks can tell the difference between sewage and funny). Frankly, the low pressure toilets on the 8th floor were more annoying, and even that, in the grand scheme of things, not major. I wouldn't let these comments stop me from sailing the Enchantment, (YMMV) but hey, more of the ship for me next time I sail her... el henry
dmwnc1959 Posted April 25, 2011 #15 Share Posted April 25, 2011 I don't see how it is getting "worse". The folks who insist it is sewage were on the ship last month.... The comment I quoted is from someone who got off the ship April 2nd. The reason I had asked if it was getting worse was initially being reported in cruise reviews (Jan/Feb) the smell of sewage was confined to certain (?) areas of the lower accommodations decks but wrkfire911 commmented: ..it occured on our trip several times..coming from different areas of the ship but mostly it was strongest in the Centrum area...one day it was SOO bad on the 5th floor around the pursers desk & casino it almost made ya sick!
