What happened to the Love Boat reruns?

I was recently on the Crown and was a bit disappointed when I could not find them on TV. Call me strange, but I was actually looking forward to watching them while DW gets ready for dinner as I had on previous cruises.

 

Does anyone know if this is a fleetwide thing?

 

Did RCL or Disney buy the rights?

 

What gives?

It is so funny that you brought this up cause I was just thinking the same thing. I loved watching them while my husband was getting ready for us to go to dinner. Guess I will have to bring them on DVD with me on my DVD Player.:)

We were on the Crown about 3 weeks ago and I remember flipping through the channels and watching a few minutes of an episode, but I don't remember it being on a specific channel all the time like on previous cruises....

Same for us - while channel surfing here and there would catch a brief episode. We were on the Sapphire last February.

They're so bad, they're good. They weren't on the Grand in February and neither were the Affair to Remember flicks. I miss them

Aw man, don't tell me they aren't showing the Love Boat anymore! That was one of my favourite things about our first Princess cruise! Hubby is more of a night owl than me so he'd often walk me back to our room and then head off to the casino for an hour or so. I'd read for a bit, grab a shower, and then settle into bed to enjoy an episode or two of my favourite childhood show. Are they still showing this on the Caribbean Princess? I will seriously be disappointed if they're not! (we sail on Sunday)

We also missed the Love Boat reruns while on the Sapphire a couple weeks ago. Have loved watching them on past cruises. It's kind of silly, but really, what better place to watch them? I have thought about buying them and watching them at home, but that would make me too sad! I'm already having a hard time waiting for our next cruise!

I'm only sorry they aren't showing more than the first season....the episodes are fine but there are 8 more years (I think) of episodes to offer us. Next someone will tell us they are no longer showing "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" on Princess ships! We usually watch "Out to Sea" before we embark -- gets us into the cruise mode (even though the film centers around a Holland America cruise). Can't wait til our next cruise -- Caribbean Princess in June.

I sure hope they bring them back. I had forgotten how many heavyweight guest stars were in each episode. It was just a hoot to see who would show up, and at what stage of life they were in.

Agreed! I missed them in December when onboard the Crown!

The Love Boat and Fantasy Island - the only shows that would keep me home on a Saturday night glued to the TV.:D
