michigan tim Posted April 25, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2011 I was recently on the Crown and was a bit disappointed when I could not find them on TV. Call me strange, but I was actually looking forward to watching them while DW gets ready for dinner as I had on previous cruises. Does anyone know if this is a fleetwide thing? Did RCL or Disney buy the rights? What gives?
smitty3000 Posted April 25, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2011 It is so funny that you brought this up cause I was just thinking the same thing. I loved watching them while my husband was getting ready for us to go to dinner. Guess I will have to bring them on DVD with me on my DVD Player.:)
kywildcatfanone Posted April 25, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2011 We were on the Crown about 3 weeks ago and I remember flipping through the channels and watching a few minutes of an episode, but I don't remember it being on a specific channel all the time like on previous cruises.... BosoxI Posted April 27, 2011 #5 Share Posted April 27, 2011 They're so bad, they're good. They weren't on the Grand in February and neither were the Affair to Remember flicks. I miss them
Ginnyfyr Posted April 27, 2011 #6 Share Posted April 27, 2011 Aw man, don't tell me they aren't showing the Love Boat anymore! That was one of my favourite things about our first Princess cruise! Hubby is more of a night owl than me so he'd often walk me back to our room and then head off to the casino for an hour or so. I'd read for a bit, grab a shower, and then settle into bed to enjoy an episode or two of my favourite childhood show. Are they still showing this on the Caribbean Princess? I will seriously be disappointed if they're not! (we sail on Sunday)
cruzhappy88 Posted April 27, 2011 #7 Share Posted April 27, 2011 We also missed the Love Boat reruns while on the Sapphire a couple weeks ago. Have loved watching them on past cruises. It's kind of silly, but really, what better place to watch them? I have thought about buying them and watching them at home, but that would make me too sad! I'm already having a hard time waiting for our next cruise!
donnajl Posted April 27, 2011 #8 Share Posted April 27, 2011 I'm only sorry they aren't showing more than the first season....the episodes are fine but there are 8 more years (I think) of episodes to offer us. Next someone will tell us they are no longer showing "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" on Princess ships! We usually watch "Out to Sea" before we embark -- gets us into the cruise mode (even though the film centers around a Holland America cruise). Can't wait til our next cruise -- Caribbean Princess in June.
mamagina Posted April 27, 2011 #9 Share Posted April 27, 2011 What a treat!!! I didn't know they did this. We would have sailed on Princess sooner. Taking our first Princess cruise Sunday. I will definately look forward to Love Boat reruns. My then boyfriend, now husband and I used to cut class in college to watch Love Boat reruns at 11am! Ahhhh, the memories. michigan tim Posted April 28, 2011 Author #11 Share Posted April 28, 2011 I sure hope they bring them back. I had forgotten how many heavyweight guest stars were in each episode. It was just a hoot to see who would show up, and at what stage of life they were in.
recyclelady Posted April 29, 2011 #12 Share Posted April 29, 2011 I thought I was the only strange person who liked watching these while getting ready for dinner! I missed them in February also when onboard the Ruby.
