Does Princess cash traveler's checks at the Purser's Desk?

Yes, they do. We always carry at least $500 worth of them just in case we run short of cash...which we have been known to do.

Easist way is to just send yourself casino cash.

Yes they cash travelers checks but they have been known to run out of funds. A lot of places do not take travelers checks so they really need to be emergency funds. They will take them to pay off the ship board account. Not sure where you are going so not sure where else you can use them.

I have never had to bring along my passport, my cruise card has been adequate.

I take traveler's checks and have cashed them at the casino, no passport needed, just my cruise card.

I still bring them and have them cashed at the Passenger Services Desk. Never brought my passport - they just wanted my room number.

 

I don't like bringing a lot of cash so this works well for me. I only cash what I need. I often use it to get cash for the way home.....
