robinm918 Posted May 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2011 Hello, We are doing a 7 night inside passage cruise on the Infinity this July. The official fishing excursions on our cruise are very expensive. I was wondering if anyone has experience using an independent provider for a fishing trip. We are going to Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, and Tracy Arm Fjord. thank you. Frank
PartyAllDaTyme Posted May 1, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2011 You'll probably have better luck on the Alaska board. A search of that board might give you your answer, as well. Fblack Posted May 1, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2011 You can fish right by the bridge near Creek Street in Ketchikan. Behind the Lumber Jack show. http://www.alaskafishingak.com/ketchikan/ketchikanfishing.htm
TMLAalum Posted May 1, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2011 DH did a kayak fishing private excursion out of Ketchikan, but had better luck by the bridge as Fblack suggests!
Marie321 Posted May 2, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 2, 2011 Ketchikan is known as the salmon capital. We have fished with Ken of Northern Lights 3 times and had a wonderful experience each time. rokalada Posted May 2, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 2, 2011 My family of four went out for the day on Toni Wisner's boat out of Juneau. We had intended to go salmon fishing, but Toni told us that no one had been catching salmon, and if we wanted to change to halibut, she could almost guarantee we would catch our limit. It was amazing! We caught our limit. On the way back in, she took us to a special area off an island, and we fed eagles. It was so amazing. Toni was fair, her boat was clean and safe, and we liked her a lot. She really went out of her way to accommodate our disabled daughter, and she was someone I would highly recommend.
