LFM Posted May 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2011 How do I best get from Heathrow to Dover in order to catch a cruise ship that sails at 3:00PM? I arrive at Heathrow at 8:00AM.
catl331 Posted May 1, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2011 There's always HAL transfers - they're very convenient, but often not the cheapest way. I suggest you look up your Roll Call and see what others are doing. Maybe you can share transportation with someone there. HERE IS a thread on the Britain Ports of Call forum that talks about the possibility of using trains.
azalice Posted May 1, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2011 To try to make things simpler, we are taking the HAL transfer.
BCEagle78 Posted May 2, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2011 We are flying to Heathrow in late June for a cruise on the Eurodam out of Dover. We researched a number of options including trains, private transfer services, busses and HAL's transport service. After all the research, it is true that you can find something a little bit less expensive but surprisingly not much cheaper than the HAL transfer. For us the virtual hassle free HAL transfer is worth the few extra dollars.
Toad Posted May 2, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 2, 2011 Have done the HAL transfer, it is not a bad bus ride.
marc62 Posted May 2, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 2, 2011 Heathrow to Dover is very simple by road so would suggest HAL transfer after a long flight. If you do intend to do it alone it is still very simple Underground to Victoria Station Train to Dover Easier with HAL though Marc
