Independent fishing excursion in Alaska?

Hello,

 

We are doing a 7 night inside passage cruise on the Infinity this July. The official fishing excursions on our cruise are very expensive. I was wondering if anyone has experience using an independent provider for a fishing trip. We are going to Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, and Tracy Arm Fjord.

Not sure what you mean expensive? If you charter a boat seperate it is still pricey, but cheaper than the cruiseline by a bit. If you want the best experience you might consider not sharing the boat as then you have the whole boat to you, important if it isn't a good catching day.

 

After doing a boat share twice I always go for the full boat these days.

totally agree with renting the whole boat if you can swing it
