newport dave Posted May 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2011 Do P&O provide free shuttle buses from where you dock to the towns. We're on Arcadia in July doing the Baltics. We seem to be docking more than walking distance from the city centres in Copenhagen and Stockholm, not checked the other ports yet.
tom_uk Posted May 8, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2011 Have a look at this page on the FAQ section of the P&O website. We've pretty much always had shuttle buses on P&O cruises, That said, in one or two key ports, e.g. Livorno, we were on an excursion anyway so we don't know what happened w/regard to shuttles. I have never paid for a shuttle bus yet, except Girbralter when if you want a ride into the town you paid 1e and filled mini buses and they took you in. If you want to go to Florence from Liverno you would need to book a trip and pay for the coach as its too far for a free shuttle, same with Rome. Yes; I've always understood the term shuttle buses to mean transport from the ship into the port town, e.g. the shuttle at Barcelona from the new cruise terminals to World Trade Centre area, about 3/4 of a mile, or the couple of miles from the usual berthing position at Lisbon (right by the bridge) into central Lisbon. I agree that longer trips, e.g. from Livorno to Florence or Civ to Rome aren't included in the term 'shuttle buses'.
