Just back from the first Spirit Alaska cruise of the season!!

We did not go to the MDR for dinner because we got back too late so we hit the buffet. This is the only thing we were really disappointed with on this cruise. The desserts were good but the main courses were not. We looked over the food and then went back to the room and ordered room service. Later we went to the casino for awhile then back to our cabin to go to bed. We had to be up early for our train tour in Skagway. Here a few more pictures of Juneau!

Our next port was Skagway! We ordered coffee from room service and parked it on our balcony for the ride in. We had a sea bird on our balcony. He had webbed feet like a duck and was terrified. We didnt touch it and told the room Steward. Someone came and picked him and he flew away. I guess he was just disoriented. Hubby ran down to the buffet and got an omelet while I got ready. The Omelets at the buffet were very good. Breakfast definately was the best meal for a buffet. We got in line to get off the ship and disembarkment went quickly. We took a shuttle for free over to the White Pass train station to get our tickets. We did not book with the ship so we didnt get to board at the dock. The views from the train were breath taking!! You get a book with the story of the gold rush and the building of the tracks when you get on. Its hard to believe it was built without any of the modern equipment we have today. The ride was 3 hours and they had everyone switch sides and go to the other side of the car for the ride back down. We saw 2 bears and some people saw a moose. After the train we went shopping and had lunch at the Red Onion Saloon. Hubby loved trying the different Alaskan beers. The upstairs of the saloon is a brothel museum. Its 5 dollars for a 15 minute tour. The waitresses are dressed up like the call girls and the hostess is dressed like the Madaam. We had nachos and they were actually pretty good. We shopped some more and back to the ship we went. Tonight was formal dinner in the MDR. Saw lots of people in Jeans. Here are some pictures!

As I said before, we had the Aft wrap Vista suite. We loved it!!! We could see so much even on the other side on the balcony. It was great. This was our 5th corner aft balcony, were really spoiled to them now. The room was great also. We had plenty of space for guest and liked the bedroom being seperate from the living room. The bathroom was big compared to a regular balcony room. We brought 2 12 packs of cokes so the fridge was great for that. We also ordered 2 bottles of liquor from Bon Voyage and it was in the room when we boarded. My daughter also bought us drink coupons for Christmas and we had those too. We had 2 tv's in the room. There were lots of windows so we could see if something interesting was coming up. Here are pictures.

Really enjoying your review. My father, daughter and I will be on the May 24th sailing out of Seattle. When we booked, we had 389 days until the trip. Tomorrow we will be doing the SINGLE DIGIT DANCE !!!

Did you enjoy the whale watch with Orca? We are booked with them for our whale watch excursion.

Was suprised at all the snow that was still around on your train ride pictures. I expected there to still be snow around but not that much. But as long as I do not have to SHOVEL any of it, it is very beautiful to look at.

Again, thanks for the amazing review.

We were happy with the whale watching tour and the guides. We only saw 2 whales so that was a little disappointing but not their fault. They were very organized and very nice. Their office was really neat, they had scrapbooks, books, pictures to look at and videos to watch while we waited to leave for the tour and they have a gift shop. I also was shocked at the snow on the train! It was cool for us to see being from Texas but wouldnt want to deal with that all winter! I know you will really enjoy the cruise!

WEll If I had known I could copy the pictures from Facebook and yall could see them without being my friend I would of done that for the whole review!! Now I know! GRR!! Anyway our last port was Ketchikan and it was great! We had coffee on the balcony and really enjoyed seeing the scenery coming in. We got ready and got off the ship to explore. We did not book a tour for this port and winged it. We shopped and walked all over the town. Went to Creek Street and rode the tram to the top and took lots of pictures! Here we are at the top

Great image of the two of you Becky! It was wonderful meeting you! Everything just went so quick!

I just got in late last night. Luckily I started my trip report while on the cruise so I'll be posting one too! I just need to get organized!

I do agree with BigBoat (Rowdy) - the meet and greet should be on the sailing day. I was bummed I never got to meet Ashley and her new husband since I brought a small gift for them getting married. I hope they had a good time! I hope everyone on the board had a great time!

Loving your review since it's helping me re-live the trip! I'll get off my butt and most mine with pictures hopefully tonight or tomorrow!

We left Ketchikan and had room service since we got back late and we were exhausted. The next day was our sea day and our last day of the cruise. The scenery was boring since we were out in open water but we could see the coast of Canada. We went to the photo shop and got all our pictures and then picked up a few more souvenirs. Went to the room and packed and played in the Casino for awhile. Came back to the room and got ready for dinner to spend the last night with our tablemates.

We really enjoyed this cruise. It was so nice seeing a change of scenery and im even a beach person. We saw some amazing things and i would love to explore more of the Pacific northwest and Alaska. Here are some more pictures:

Tuesday morning we were docked and in Seattle. The cruise went by way too fast!! We got some breakfast and waited to get off. We had tags number 1 so we didnt wait long. Getting off was very smooth and we got in line for a taxi. Taxi ride from the port to the airport was 45 bucks without a tip. Shuttle ride was 18 a person but you had to wait to leave when the shuttle got full. Here are some pics of Seattle that morning

We were also on that cruise and took the train up from Seattle. Business Class is the way to go and when you check in they will give you assigned seats. I was told the left side was best, but they were single seats and we were assigned to the right side, but it was fine and we were able to take pics because there were empty seats on the left.

We used "luggage express" in Seattle and it was great. Certainly worth the money not to have to lug those bags around and the driver from the shuttle service really liked us too!

We stayed at the Silver Cloud Stadium in Seattle and it was really nice plus DH got to go to the ballgame!

We thought the ship looked great, dining room food was very good as was the service. We do Anytime Dining and never had to wait for a table for two.

Michelle the Naturalist is wonderful as Becky mentioned. As soon as we heard the "tones" we went out on our balcony.
