Expectations Were Met: Our 1st NCL & 1st Spirit Cruise, May 1st

Thanks for letting me know this. I will be headed to the bank for small bills before we go. I am glad to know they take bills. Our last two cruises (CCL) required all gambling to be done on the room card and I was not a fan of that.

Could you tell me if they have the bulldozer type machines that push the quarters out? Our daughter is so excited, having recently turned 18, to be able to legally gamble. However, her only desire is that game (which she could legally play at Chuckie Cheese for the last 18 years!). I don't think I want her to get hooked on gambling so maybe that is a good thing.

By the way, any slot tips? I am not a big gambler at all and enjoy quarter slots with "something extra" - maybe Wheel of Fortune? Deal or No Deal? Any idea if those are available?

Thanks for the great review!

They do have that addictive bulldozer quarter machine. It was popular so it was hard to get one of 5 seats available at night. They do have a variety of machines, but I dont remember if they had the ones you asked about. The slots were so tight I tried to stay out of the casino after the first couple days. I didnt have any luck at all. I hope you do better then me :)

In the center of the casino I believe I saw one of those bulldozer type machines that push the quarters out. As far as the Wheel of Fortune type quarter slots with extra features...yes, we did see a bank of those, believe it was at the far end of the casino, near the nightclub, on your right. These were popular and did seem to have some bonuses...

BTW: I played mainly the nickel and penny slots, though penny is quite the misnomer here as it takes a minumum of 40 to 50 on our favorite Goldfish and Mermaid/Battleship (?) type slots. Decent payout the first couple nights as mentioned, and plenty of those fun bonuses that make it (mostly) painless.

Hope that helps :)

fantastic review!!! Esp regarding the food. If there's one thing that we love, it's THAT! :) So between the reviews and the pics, I know exactly what will be headed for for the 7 days there. Thank you!

Glad you like it, and it is comments like this that made it worth the time and effort to post. CC has given me plenty in terms of research, vacation ideas and friendship...so it makes perfect sense to pay it forward.

We are both huge Foodies, and diabetics to boot, so we have to spend our cusine calories prudently yet allow for some extra treats from time to time. Hence the multi-elastic buffet pants and flowing tunic tops ;)

Don't know if I posted this picture yet, but got a kick out of some diners at the next table oohing and aahing over my sushi platter, one even calling it Disneyesque:

What a great review! I love the pictures you've added. I also enjoy your writing style. ;)

Thanks very much for your oh-so-kind comments. It was a fun review to write and I tried to be balanced even though I was thrilled with 95% of the whole cruise :D
