Bigbob75 Posted May 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2011 Has anyone slept the night out on a deck? Perhaps in a lounge chair? Do they allow that??
Justsyd Posted May 26, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2011 I'm sure that people have, until they come along to hose the decks down, and move all of the deck chairs. :D
Rare shof515 Posted May 26, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2011 if you are drunk and pass out on the deck, does ship security escort back to your cabin or they just leave you there until the morning?..lol

Echo Queen Posted May 26, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 26, 2011 I guess you could end up on youtube, drool and all. lol
Colorado Kat Posted May 26, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 26, 2011 If you have a balcony with your own lounge chairs, go for it! I'm pretty sure they would wake you up and send you back to your cabin if on a regular deck. But oh, those hammocks up on Serenity!
dmwnc1959 Posted May 26, 2011 #7 Share Posted May 26, 2011 My favorite stories are from those that sleep out on their balcony at night and get caught in a passing rainstorm! It does happen. And as mentioned in the early morning when the deck staff are spraying off the exterior of the upper decks with water hoses. Don't blame them if you get soaked! On the bright side, that should handle the drool problem nicely ;)
Bigbob75 Posted May 26, 2011 Author #9 Share Posted May 26, 2011 The question was spurred by some previous threads Asking about 5 people in one room Since there is a fair amount of people here who prepare for cruising akin to camping...... It's only a matter if time Didn't think of the hammocks on serenity deck Lol
LUPY48 Posted May 26, 2011 #10 Share Posted May 26, 2011 I slept on our balcony twice on our cruise last week. But, we were in a VS. Those lounge chairs aren't that comfy on one's back. But, it was nice listening to the water swishing by.

mrmrs2 Posted May 26, 2011 #12 Share Posted May 26, 2011 The balcony is too small but wouldn't it be nice if it could accomodate a hammock or a twin size bed, just dreaming, but woldn't that be great:p:p:p
B and C Blake Posted May 26, 2011 #13 Share Posted May 26, 2011 Sometime within the past week I read in John's blog that a couple on Magic had an argument. The husband ended up sleeping on Lido. I figure if DH starts acting up I could just push him off the balcony. LOL:p

waldocruiser1 Posted May 26, 2011 #15 Share Posted May 26, 2011 I read on a thread once that you should go to the highest deck very late, and sit back, let your eyes adjust and watch all the stars. It takes about 20 minutes to really get the view.

billie5 Posted May 26, 2011 #17 Share Posted May 26, 2011 In answer to your question, YES, I have slept on deck. It was on NCL, the Spirit if I recall correctly. On the way back to Miami, the ship lost all power for about 6 hours, then was able to recover only partial power, enough to limp into San Juan the next day, but not enough to run the air conditioning (or the dining rooms). So we, along with hundreds of others, spent the night sleeping on deck. Really enjoyed the free cruise we got in compensation! Especially since the aborted cruise was already on its return leg. H82seaUgo Posted May 26, 2011 #18 Share Posted May 26, 2011 Has anyone slept the night out on a deck? Perhaps in a lounge chair?Do they allow that?? they pretty much tie all the chairs up to prevent people from doing this. and the ship never sleeps, so you'd be on display. cruisebrat15 Posted May 26, 2011 #19 Share Posted May 26, 2011 When I was on the Carnival Miracle my neighbor had a air mattress on his deck and sleep there most nights. Scared the hell out of us the 1st time we saw or should I say heard him snore.
