Upgrade to Guarantee Balcony?

I've been offered an upgrade from a obstructed oceanview (between 2 lifeboats, so it's not very obstructed) to a guarantee balcony. Should I take it? Are there any undesirable balcony cabins?

 

It's a Star Princess Mediteranean cruise in June. Thanks! :)

Perhaps others know better BUT... IMHO there is a huge difference between an OV and a balcony. As a guarantee balcony you will most likely get a further upgrade when your cabin is assigned.

 

I personally can't think of any balcony cabin that is not WAY BETTER than an ocean view no matter how good the view might be.

I would totally take the balcony! To me, that's a huge upgrade! I sailed with a balcony on our last cruise....and I don't think I will be able to go back to an oceanview now as it made our cruise even way more amazing!

I think you should take the upgrade. You will love having a balcony, especially with the nice weather that you are likely to have in the Mediterranean. Obviously some balcony rooms have better locations than others. But in my opionion any balcony is better than none. Go for it!!

I forgot to mention on our first Princess cruise on CB as we were driving into NYC our cell phone rang and it was Princess offering us exactly the same upgrade. We jumped at it and now my wife WILL NOT cruise unless we have a balcony. It is a world of difference. Unfortunately the friends we were traveling with did not get the same upgrade so we have see both cabin types.

 

AGAIN... IMHO this is a NO BRAINER!!

 

Enjoy, once you go balcony you never go back (and Princess know this).

Any Balcony for the same $$$ as your Obstructed View cabin is terrific.

Just being able to step outside and get fresh air, or sleep with the door open and hear the ocean does it for me, i don't care where your balcony is!

 

I've been on 8 princess cruises, and never received an upgrade like this - congratulations!
