Cannes, Propriano and Mahon are the new ones....we usually just look around the port areas on our first visit and then if we return go further afield.....thought we may go to the Vatican, as last visit to Rome was a Sunday so gave it a miss and did the other sites....Livorno we may go to Pisa...have already done Florence and seen the tower at Pisa from a distance....we'll see what weather is like and how tired we are after Rome...might be good to have a lazy day on the ship.

Was it a HOHO bus in Cannes or a ships trip you did? Mahon gets good reviews ...we are looking forward to that as we haven't been to Minorca (although have been to Majorca many times) ...Just looking forward to getting some warm sunshine (hopefully!!) :)

Make sure you're up early on the trip into Mahon, one of the best harbours in the world to sail into IMHO...the sights are amazing. it takes a good 45 mins sailing until you dock.

OK will remember that...and also to take it easy up the steps !!:)

Hope the weather's kind to us...our son and Daughter in law had rain on a few days of their recent Oceana cruise to Western Med....

We've had rubbish weather down here in Cornwall as well ....while the rest of the country seems to have had it good for ages. :(

we usually just look around the ports but did rome and we were really tired so glad we didnt have anything booked in livorno, also the crossing was a bit rough so we were up in the night rescuing things coming off the dressing table. livorno is a nice little town to walk around. went to nice on a sunday so booked a ships tour, well worth it and really interesting in mahon they were having a fiesta so we were out with the locals and watching the fireworks. great atmousphere. we did rome on your own and went to the forum and colleseum, also trevi fountain-wonderful. enjoy

Just be careful with the steps (of death) in Mahon :D they seem to go on for ages climbing up from the port to the centre of town.

went up twice popped back to the ship for lunch then back up again. you can do this as you dock right in the town. all the walking keeps me fit and conteracts all the food and booze, cos the food is lovely on this ship

Liverno is a lovely town to walk around, make sure you go to one of the biggest markets on the circuit..it's massive.

OOh that sounds good .....we like a good market to browse....we were there in January but stayed on board as it was a Sunday and we thought everywhere would be closed....:)
