kate52 Posted June 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2011 There is plenty to read- have you got through it all yet, RR? Are you a "port planner" or take it as it comes? kate
Rebel Rouser Posted June 10, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted June 10, 2011 Just take it as it comes..hate planning things on Holiday, we know all the ports very well now, so it's easy to just get off and do your own thing.

jenny wren Posted June 12, 2011 #8 Share Posted June 12, 2011 Livorno - 2nd July Saturday.....but we're not going to Barcelona....its Sea Day, Propriano, Civitavecchia, Livorno, Cannes, Mahon and back to Palma...three new ports for us so quite excited....nice to find a slightly different itinerary than the norm....:)
infoqueen Posted June 12, 2011 #9 Share Posted June 12, 2011 it sound almost identical to the itinery we did in 2009. loved mahon you dock right in the town. went on a bus tour in cannes, did rome on your own tour and used the metro. which are the new ones for you this time? jenny wren Posted June 13, 2011 #10 Share Posted June 13, 2011 Cannes, Propriano and Mahon are the new ones....we usually just look around the port areas on our first visit and then if we return go further afield.....thought we may go to the Vatican, as last visit to Rome was a Sunday so gave it a miss and did the other sites....Livorno we may go to Pisa...have already done Florence and seen the tower at Pisa from a distance....we'll see what weather is like and how tired we are after Rome...might be good to have a lazy day on the ship. Was it a HOHO bus in Cannes or a ships trip you did? Mahon gets good reviews ...we are looking forward to that as we haven't been to Minorca (although have been to Majorca many times) ...Just looking forward to getting some warm sunshine (hopefully!!) :)
Rebel Rouser Posted June 13, 2011 Author #11 Share Posted June 13, 2011 Just be careful with the steps (of death) in Mahon :D they seem to go on for ages climbing up from the port to the centre of town.

Rebel Rouser Posted June 13, 2011 Author #15 Share Posted June 13, 2011 ? Mahon gets good reviews ...we are looking forward to that as we haven't been to Minorca :) Make sure you're up early on the trip into Mahon, one of the best harbours in the world to sail into IMHO...the sights are amazing. it takes a good 45 mins sailing until you dock.
