BigDog™ Posted June 14, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2011 Just ordered 2 bottles of Captain, 1 bottle Malibu and 1 bottle Bacardi. $219 for all of it. No hassle or stress smuggling. I will be able to make my drinks in my large mug at my leisure and to my own taste. Comes out to about $3 per drink....a small price to pay for the peace of mind I have now! Lucille Bluth Posted June 14, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2011 We used BV on our last cruise and it was in our room when we dropped off our luggage. I agree, it is a small price to pay to be stress free! Have a great cruise!

Gecko7 Posted June 14, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2011 How big are the bottles and where did you see what they have available? I just purchased two bottles too. There 1 liter and yu have to call them to order. There isn't any online way to order booze. Search the threads, you'll find a price list and other details. It's great peace of mind. simmingdenise Posted June 14, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 14, 2011 I just ordered as well! 2 bottles of Jack & 1 Jager. $186 total....woo hoo...23 days and counting:D
weircamping Posted June 14, 2011 #7 Share Posted June 14, 2011 We ordered ours through Bon Voyage as well...we figured out that the cost of BV vs. the stress/risk of trying to smuggle was just not worth it! We are flying from Oregon, so would have to find a place to purchase in Miami before we board the ship. By the time we purchased Rum Runners or some other item to dump out & replace with the alcohol, we were likely ahead by purchasing through BV. We are going to get some soda before we board & mix our drinks in our insulated cups before heading to the Lido...only 5 days before the relaxation begins! Cyn7 Posted June 14, 2011 #8 Share Posted June 14, 2011 I haven't ordered my bottles yet but yesterday I ordered our anniversary cake and the High Seas Gift Basket, it has a bottle of champange in it. Next week I'll be ordering a bottle od Dewars and Capt Morgan. 81 days and counting :)

jaded99 Posted June 14, 2011 #10 Share Posted June 14, 2011 We ordered 4 bottles for our last cruise and barely drank any of it... we met a great bartender onboard and wound up buying all our drinks from him instead. I think we will still order just 1 bottle for our next cruise though - I think we're barely in that window where you can still order it, not quite into the 2-week zone yet. But then again, you ordered about the highest price inflated bottles. Sill cheaper though!
elcuchio24 Posted June 14, 2011 #12 Share Posted June 14, 2011 How big are the bottles and where did you see what they have available? It's not 'officially' listed on CCL site, just give them a call and they will let you know what they have, prices, etc. Painless!

cruiser/teacher Posted June 14, 2011 #15 Share Posted June 14, 2011 Ordered 2 bottles of Vodka on our last cruise and it was well worth it! Bloody Marys in the morning (ordered tomato juice from room service and brought dried bloody mary spice mix) and then Vodka and crystal light lemonade in my big mug up on deck by the pool...a small investment at $80 but cheaper than ordering all of those drinks from the bar. :D
Texarribean Chick Posted June 14, 2011 #16 Share Posted June 14, 2011 One bottle of Vodka (for those refreshing poolside dirty Arnie Palmer's) with lido deck lemonade/iced tea and one bottle of gin for the evenings. Carry on my allowance of tonic water. Limes from room service. Perfect, cheaper and stress free. No need to worry about that "walk of shame".........:)
crusinpsychRN Posted June 14, 2011 #17 Share Posted June 14, 2011 If they'd make the prices a little more reasonable people wouldn't feel the need to smuggle. When the nearly double the price...

Then the cost of your cabin would go up the amount they cut off the drink prices. I think however they should make soda, fruit punch etc complimentary.
drosphot Posted June 14, 2011 #19 Share Posted June 14, 2011 When is the latest that you can order liquor from Bon Voyage? It is stated as two weeks prior to departure for the deadline to order, but I was able to add to my order 4 days before we left in November 2010... OCMama Posted June 14, 2011 #20 Share Posted June 14, 2011 $219 doesn't sound too horrible for 4 bottles. I've been going back and forth about ordering from BV. If it were just DH & I going on the cruise, it would be a no brainer. However, we're cruising with our kids & my parents. As much as DH & I love to get our drink on, I don't know how much we actually will since we have to be responsible parents. We might just get one bottle of something, but picking just one is hard. Any suggestions?
janet and loren Posted June 14, 2011 #21 Share Posted June 14, 2011 Thanks for this post, I just ordered our bottle of gin! Although we will be doing our share of drinking at dinner and at the bars / lounges, my husband and I like to have a couple of cocktails on the balcony pre-dinner and as a nightcap. No longer stressed about smuggling and I understand we can bring a 12 pack of tonic in our carry-on! Thanks again for the info!

Any suggestions? Vodka goes with everything. Orange juice (screwdriver), tomato juice (bloody mary), and of course, my famous dirty Arnie Palmer (with lemonade/iced tea) available on lido deck like other juices mentioned above. You can buy little pineapple juices, or grapefruit juices (salty dogs) or cranberry juices (seabreeze) as well from any bar. You would think I was a former bartendar, LOL! Rum also mixes well with juices and/or your allowed sodas to bring on board yourself. Have Fun!

chechas Posted June 15, 2011 #24 Share Posted June 15, 2011 Thanks everyone for the tip. Never knew you could do this. So I just got off the phone ordering my alcohol for the trip - July 2 on the Dream! Woohoo! While I was at it went ahead and ordered a birthday cake also. LOL Happy Birthday to me! Just need to go find some cans of tonic water to bring along.
