Bon Voyage Alcohol Ordered!

Thanks everyone for the tip. Never knew you could do this.

 

So I just got off the phone ordering my alcohol for the trip - July 2 on the Dream! Woohoo! While I was at it went ahead and ordered a birthday cake also. LOL Happy Birthday to me! Just need to go find some cans of tonic water to bring along.

 

Hey chechas - BTW, if you cannot find the cans of tonic water, we have always brought on (2) of the (1) liter resealable plastic bottles of tonic water with no issues :D.

We're in! Bottle of Bacardi Rum and Skye Vodka. $80..

2 bottles of Bacardi, 1 bottle of Appleton VX and 2 bottles of Stoli for $204

 

That should at least get us out to the blue water from Galveston after it's delivered :D

Good to know! Found small glass bottles of tonic water but they are heavy so did not want to being them. Thanks!

If they'd make the prices a little more reasonable people wouldn't feel the need to smuggle. When the nearly double the price...

 

Is smuggling really any cheaper? Keep in mind, these are 1L bottles, not a fifth.

 

So if you buy a $30 Liter of alcohol, then spend $20 on Rum Runners, I don't see how you're coming out ahead!

We are sailing this Saturday and ordered 2 bottles. One grey goose and one Bacardi for a total of $107.00, so worth it to me.:p

I just called and they're closed until Monday morning. That's one day before I leave, I don't think I'll be able to get my order in but I'll give it a whirl.

Ordered 2 bottles of Vodka on our last cruise and it was well worth it! Bloody Marys in the morning (ordered tomato juice from room service and brought dried bloody mary spice mix) and then Vodka and crystal light lemonade in my big mug up on deck by the pool...a small investment at $80 but cheaper than ordering all of those drinks from the bar. :D

 

 

Never heard of dried bloody mary spice mix...where can I find this??

We ordered a bottle of Jim and a bottle of Captain from BV. So worth the price to not have to worry about smuggling! Plus we are getting married the night before our cruise so I won't need any more stress! Lol I might call again and add on a bottle of Bacardi for good measure :rolleyes:

For those who aren't aware you can also call room service from your cabin AFTER sail away to order a bottle of whatever your preference is. We were going to order a bottle of vodka on our last cruise and they asked us to call back after we sailed to order. We ended up skipping it but just wanted you guys to know it's an option.

$219 doesn't sound too horrible for 4 bottles. I've been going back and forth about ordering from BV. If it were just DH & I going on the cruise, it would be a no brainer. However, we're cruising with our kids & my parents. As much as DH & I love to get our drink on, I don't know how much we actually will since we have to be responsible parents. We might just get one bottle of something, but picking just one is hard. Any suggestions?

 

You can't go wrong with grey goose vodka. Many mixing possibilities!

We are defiantly going to be ordering a bottle of vodka for that cruise. I figure we've got 15 days in which to drink it lol

BV is the only way to go. Their prices are only slightly higher than what we pay in Canada. For us it's a bargain!

I know I will order DH's bourbon because he drinks it with a splash of water. Will they let you take fruit juice on in your carryon instead of soda. I like coconut rum and pineapple juice. I don't mind buying it from the bar but it sure would be cheaper to carry it on.

I forgot about BV! It is cheaper to do this way then buying the drinks individually on board. Thanks for the list of prices on the alcohol!

Note! Please note, due to restrictions with "Alabama and Texas Liquor Laws" We are unable to deliver select gift items at Embarkation. Some items are delivered the following day.

 

You might not get your bottles on embarkation day~~I received a gift basket with wine from the casino on one of my Galveston cruises and did get it on the first day so I don't know how accurate they are regarding this rule~ but just be aware that if could arrive the next day~~

Just ordered 2 bottles of Captain, 1 bottle Malibu and 1 bottle Bacardi. $219 for all of it. No hassle or stress smuggling. I will be able to make my drinks in my large mug at my leisure and to my own taste. Comes out to about $3 per drink....a small price to pay for the peace of mind I have now!

On some ships you can ask for a bar set up and they will also have certain juices available. Also, check with room service for oj, tomato juice, etc. There is a mini bar fridge in most rooms and you can store it there. Empty water bottles work well for this. You can rinse them out, reuse them, and pitch them at the end of the cruise.
