Kids' attire in MDR NON-formal night

Hi, there,

 

We are cruising in the Med next week with our two daughters, 12 and 9. They are both excited about dressing for formal night and are bringing several lovely dresses. As to non-formal nights, they will likely wear dresses a couple of times and capris a couple of times. I know the dress code is "no shorts" but I'm wondering if something like nice Bermudas with a nice top would work for the kids. They're just a couple of inches shorter than capris, which I gather are okay. Is this anything to worry about? Many thanks.

Kids are given a lot more leeway, and I doubt that anyone would object to them wearing shorts.

I have seen children wearing bermudas in the dining room at dinner -- no one said anything to them.

I see nothing wrong with the children being a little more casual than the adults.

Humm my kids are 9 , 13 and 16 and I want to see them a little more dressed up. That's just me tired of seeing then in shorts and t-shirt and any way Alaska may be told cold for that. It has been 105 here latly so we are all glad for th e change

Well, they're definitely nicer than t-shirts and shorts, but I know exactly what you mean. They do love to dress up, luckily.

 

It sounds like they'll be just fine. Thanks to all of you for taking the time to respond! (And yes—faces will need to be wiped off! Unless they've had a chance to dip in the pool!) :)
