Picnic w/ wine in Stanley Park?

Recommended Posts

Consumption of alcoholic beverages in public is against the law. However, the law is

usually only enforced in connection with large gatherings and events or when the

consumer(s) are misbehaving. Just be discreet.

It is against the law to consume alcohol in public spaces - but as mentioned by the previous poster, be discreet, don't flaunt it and you should be fine. People do it (wine with picnic) all the time. If you're not being rowdy, there is no reason for the police to even notice. Worst thing that will happen is the police will dump it out for you.

I was thinking of having a picnic in Stanley Park but was wondering if we'd be allowed to bring a bottle of wine or not. Does anybody know if that's allowed in Stanley Park or what the law says about that?

Stick to BC wine and you'll be fine.
