Leo Mcgary Posted July 12, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2011 We have a full transit of the Panama Canal on the Island Princess in 2012, ( West to East ) are there any advantages to Traditional vs Anytime on this cruise ? Are thre tables for 2?
paul929207 Posted July 12, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2011 Both have tables for two, but they may be over requested. If you like TD, take that and request a table for 2. When you board check and see what you have. If not a two, talk to maitre 'd. If that fails, switch to AD.

Are thre tables for 2? No advantage to Traditional over Anytime except you dine at your own time and set the length of the meal. Anytime always has tables for two . You might have to wait at peak times for a table for 2. If you come right at opening you'l be seated within minutes. In traditional there are few tables for two. Mostly 6 or 8 .
psyfi Posted July 13, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2011 We had anytime dining on the Island in Alaska and really liked it as we did not need to schedule our days to accommodate our dining time. We did not have any difficulty getting a table for 2, although sometimes it is nice to share and meet some new people. We liked the flexibility and will always choose Anytiem dining if it is available.

We switched, trying AD for the first time, and really liked it. There was never a wait, either for a two-top or to share with friends, but we did tend to eat on the late side.
