How to add OBC?

My birthday is next month, and for my birthday my grandmother and an aunt are going to be adding OBC to my account! :-D The only contact number I found for carnival is their emergency travel and booking line...

Can anyone give me the number to call to add OBC?? Would they need just my booking number or just my name?

I would not order them online. I would call Carnival Special Promotions department directly.

We have ordered "Funship dollars" and registered them and they are still not posted to our account. Was told that they are extremely backed up and to give them until August and if they still have not showed to call them.

She'll need your booking # too if she wants to add it directly to your account which is the easiest way to do it. Otherwise, they'll mail her the certificates which she would then give to you, and you'd have to mail them back in or carry them on the cruise to be credited to your account.

  • 2 weeks later...

Keep in mind the OBC may not show up for quite awhile - depending on when your cruise is. I called and purchased some for our Feb 2012 cruise (first time doing this with Carnival).

When it didn't hit my credit card after a week I called to see if there was a problem (it was my first purchase on a new CC - for bonus purpose). After a delay I was told the first purchase wasn't processed - even though I had a "certificate" number, but that it would be processed that day.

That was 2 weeks ago. My CC was billed but the OBC hasn't been posted. I emailed them a few days ago but never got a reply.

I called this morning and was told they are just posting OBC to Aug/Sep cruises now as they are way behind - and that mine probably won't post for several months. ???? With all the people out of work I think I found a job for a few of them.

I guess I just have to trust them.....

 I've been buying funship dollars online for my October cruise and having them directly applied to my account since I paid off the cruise (two months ago) and have yet to encounter a problem. The last one I purchased was Monday, the 18th and it showed up on Tuesday, the 19th.

This is PERFECT....I didn't know you could do this.

My first cruise is in February 2012, and I wanted to add money with each paycheck to my account, but couldn't figure out how to do it.

I just want to put enough so that the tips/gratuities is covered.

Will be nice not to have a huge bill at the end of the cruise.

Ive been purchasing the fun ship dollars and have the certificates sent to me. I get them in 5 days! When Im ready to sail...I'll post them to my OBC from home using the submission form ;)

I guess buying them from Carnival, having them send them to you, so you can post it back to them makes sense...but you'd think they'd get a computer system new enough (1980?) that when they issue a certificate number tied to your booking number - it automatically posted to that booking.

Can't you just call, give them a card and have them apply credit to your booking?

I order them online here. In the address line I put On Board Credit and then my booking #. A few (or less) days later it shows up under the My Billing tab at carnival.com and on the 2nd page of my e-docs. Easy peasy. :D

That can be done. When I purchased FunShip Dollars, instead of my mailing address, I put ON BOARD CREDIT. The credit was directly applied to my booking a few days later.

Someone on these boards taught me that.

Each pay I get a certificate mailed to me. We are sailing in January and I have over 400 already with a few more months to go.

Whatever you do not spend onboard will be given to you in a check at the end.

the tips-- you can prepay with your agent after final payments

Just went to Carnival site and read rules for using these. It says they can not be used for gratuities and have no cash value. I don't think you can use them for tips.

Whatever you put on your account can be used for anything - I know what they say, but there is no way they can separate what's in your account. If you start out with $300 in your account, the first $300 in expenses will be subtracted from it - regardless of what the charges are.
