going to see the world Posted July 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2011 I know this should be posted in the ports of call thread, but it's soooo slow there. Has anyone done this excursion? Just trying to find out if the money is worth it or not. :)

westview1 Posted July 26, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 26, 2011 We took this tour on the June 5th cruise and had a great time. The tour guide was very good and she gave some great background information. There were 20 minute stops at the Reversing Falls, the New Brunswick museum, the city market/Kings Square and then on to St Martins to see the sea caves. We had the best seafood chowder at a restaurant by the sea caves. It gives you a good oversight of the area.
idiebabe Posted July 26, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2011 We just did a tour with Roy Flowers and would highly recommend him. It was myself, DH, DS, DIL and two Granddaughters. Spent 6 1/2 hours with him and the only regret is that we didn't have more time with him. He is so personable, knowledgeable and a great person to be with. We saw everything and he knew just how to time it so we would be able to go into the cave at Bay of Fundy, see the reversing falls, St. Martin, etc. and places that the non-private tours can't visit. He knew it was my Granddaughter's 6th Birthday and he made it such a special day for her complete with presents, decorating her chair at the restaurant and singing Happy Birthday with his guitar. His wife, Lucy, made her such a special Barbie cake, too. Restaurant out at Bay of Fundy has great chowder and Lobster Rolls. If you are lucky to book Roy for a tour, you will have such a wonderful, incredible day!!!

If you are lucky to book Roy for a tour, you will have such a wonderful, incredible day!!! The carnival excursion is this: Visit the famous Reversing Falls Rapids, where the highest tides in the world battle the St. John River and force it to flow backwards twice daily. Explore St. Martins, a traditional fishing village on the shores of the Bay of Fundy. Stroll along a rugged Bay of Fundy Beach and see the Sea Caves in St. Martins. Experience coastal scenery while travelling along the Bay of Fundy Shoreline. Photograph charming Covered Bridges. Explore the Vibrant Saint John City Market and chat with the local vendors. Visit the interactive and dynamic New Brunswick Museum, where you can explore all things New Brunswick from local art to the Hall of Great Whales. See the site of Moosehead Brewery, the oldest independent brewery in Canada. Hear about Saint John’s rich military history as your tour takes you past key sites such as the Carleton Martello Tower and Fort Howe. See the Victorian architecture of the Historic District, including stately homes, historic churches, and much more. NOTE: Lunch is not included in this tour, but you’ll have time for lunch on your own at the Old City Market or the Sea Caves Restaurant in St. Martins.
