Excursion or Independent Adventure?

Hello,

 

My family and I are planning to cruise to Curacao and I was wondering do we have to take an excursion or can we get to the beach and see the island on our own?

 

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

We were there last year in Nov. There were a ton of tour buses near the movable bridge offering island tours and a stop @ the beach for $15 to $20.00.

Sure you can see the island on your own, rent a car and explore

We've rental a car there numerous times. The roads are good, there are road signs, driver's are courteous, there is parking at the beaches.

 

If you rent from Avis, they will give you a good map, and they are at the Mega Pier, and in town.
