ktpc2005 Posted August 11, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2011 Our cruise to Bermuda is a little over two weeks away and I can't wait. I have never personally been to Bermuda, but my clients that I have booked there have always had rave reviews. We were planning a cruise, and when my wife's school district said they would start late this year, we booked the last week of August as the prices were much cheaper due to most people being back in school. I will be traveling with my wife and 1.5 year old son who is going on his first cruise. He's becoming quite the traveler as he's taken a plane vacation, train trip, and now his first cruise. I have come up with a couple of options for each day on the things we want to do. What we do will depend on how we are feeling and the weather. Day 1- Sunday Option 1: Horseshoe Bay Take Bus 7 or Bus 7 Special to Horseshoe Bay Relax at Horseshoe Bay Take Bus 7 or Bus 7 Special to Royal Dockyard Option 2: Hamilton/BAMZ Take ferry to HamiltonFerry Leaves at 11:30am or 12:30pm [*]Take Bus 10 or Bus 11 to BAMZ [*]Tour BAMZ [*]Take Bus 10 or Bus 11 to Hamilton [*]Take ferry back to dockyard. Day 2- Monday Option 1: St George/Tobacco Bay Take 10am ferry from Royal Dockyard to St George Walk or take jitney to Tobacco BayStop at unfinished church if walking [*]Swim and snorkel at Tobacco Bay [*]Head back to St George and tour the city [*]Take the 3:45pm ferry back to Royal Dockyard Option 2: Caves/St George Take 9am or 9:30am ferry to Hamilton Take the Bus 1,3,10, or 11 to the caves Tour the caves Take Bus 1,10, or 11 to St George Tour St George Take 3:45pm ferry back to Royal Dockyard Day 3: Tuesday Option 1: Horseshoe Bay/Tour Dockyard Take Bus 7 or Bus 7 Special to Horseshoe Bay Relax at Horseshoe BayBaby Beach is to the right [*]Take Bus 7 or Bus 7 Special to Royal Dockyard [*]Tour around Royal Dockyard Option 2: Hamilton/BAMZ Take 9:00am or 9:30 ferry to Hamilton Take Bus 10 or Bus 11 to BAMZ Tour BAMZ Take Bus 10 or Bus 11 to Hamilton Take 1pm, 1:30pm, 2pm, or 2:30pm, ferry back to dockyard. Any comments or critiques would be greatly appreciated.

Personally I would not do the caves with a toddler. It is over 80 steep steps down and back up. What you could do is have one parent wait on top, baby sit for the other parent to see the cave and then have the other parent go down. Also no reason to do both caves. ktpc2005 Posted August 11, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted August 11, 2011 We plan on doing both, the two options are going to Tobacco Bay or going to the caves in the late morning and then touring St George in the afternoon. My wife is the science teacher so she is the one that like the cavess and I am the one pushing the beach.

It is over 80 steep steps down to each cave. Tobacco Bay is a good beach to take a young child.

We bio types usually like to be out in the sunlight with the living creatures. :D Each of your options sounds good. It's refreshing to see a post where the itinerary isn't overly crammed. Lately, it seems the same group of posters are telling people "whoa, slow down!" You could probably do more, but given the age of your child, you're wise to underplan. And hey, you're young, you can go back another time. One thing the little one will probably enjoy is the train ride (actually a little tram) around dockyard. It isn't very long, but I think it's free. There's a train/tram tour in St Georges, too. IIRC, it takes about and hour and it isn't free. Have a wonderful time!! We always like to have a rough outline and will add things where it fits as we are flexible. Oveplanning stresses me out. If we like it we will be back as I get some good prices being in the travel industry. Thanks for the idea of the train/tram. We will probably do that as he enjoyed the one we took at the zoo this past weekend.
