mcrussdvc Posted August 11, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2011 I have been on a Disney Cruise now I am looking at going on another cruise and not sure which cruise line to book with they all look great but what are some of the hidden cost that i should be aware of (other then specialty dinning/excusrions and alcohol drinks)?????? Are we allowed to bring bottles of rum on board these other Lines ????
Jimnbigd Posted August 11, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2011 Royal Caribbean does not allow any outside beverages. Carnival allows some soft drinks and wine. I don't know about NCL. Hidden cost with Disney: No casino = higher fare.
Rare Got2Cruise Posted August 11, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2011 NCL does not allow you to bring alcohol on board. They do allow you to bring wine but they charge you $15 per bottle corkage fee.
Rare mizLORInj Posted August 12, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2011 The 3 you're comparing are very similar. Carnival allows one bottle of wine/champagne upon embarkation per adult over 21. Drinks on the 3 are similarly priced. There are many upcharge restaurant choices on NCL; just one on Carnival but the steakhouse is fabulous. Not sure about RC. ENJOY, whichever you choose. I would! :)
panoramaofthepast Posted August 12, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 12, 2011 I think the food on RC is mediocre, but I find that the service is better. I like the food on Carnival. I did not like NCL at all, but that is mainly because I like a traditional dining set up.
