svsw Posted August 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2011 Wondering if we can walk from the dock to the Maritime Museum to view the Titanic exhibit? How far is it, and is it easy to find? How much time should we allow for the museum? Are there shops and restaurants along the way? Thanks.
mfabz Posted August 15, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2011 In a simple answer "yes". Walk along the river walk -- there are shops, and beautiful river views. You can continue walking past the museum all the way down to the casino. Its very nice. One suggestion -- check the time of operation. We were there on a Sunday, and it did not open until noon. Just follow the boardwalk along the waterfront. There are lots of lovely little shops in the area around the museum as well (also several great restaurants). I hope you enjoy your time in my fair city :)
sail7seas Posted August 18, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2011 We walk to/past the museum every visit to Halifax and it's very, very close to where the ships dock. It is worth the visit IMO The Titanic Exhibit is interesting though not that big. I love the ship's bells collection. Really interesting. It's a nice museum IMO and so pleasant to walk along the boardwalk. If weather is good, it will be very enjoyable for you.

sail7seas Posted August 19, 2011 #7 Share Posted August 19, 2011 Why not post the questions re: Halifax here so we all can benefit from the responses? I'm sure if we are reading this forum, we all would like to learn re: Halifax from knowledgeable sources. Isn't that how these forums should operate?
