Cretia Posted August 16, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2011 First off, I want to thank the people who posted the link to http://www.buyinamerica.com/ I absolutely love their stuff. My question is, I've found what they call a cocktail dress on sale that I absolutely love. But I'm having doubts as to whether or not it's actually dressy enough to be a cocktail/formal night dress. So I need help: I know Caribbean cruises (especially short ones, like mine) tend to be a bit more informal than many cruises. Could I get away with this dress on my 5 night cruise on Celebrity? WeLove2CruiseRCI Posted August 16, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2011 I have never been on Celebrity, but i think it would be very nice for formal night. I see ladies on RCI wear dresses that don't look as nice as your pic. BUY IT!!

Cretia Posted August 16, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted August 16, 2011 Thanks to you both! I think I'll go buy it now. I'm glad the feedback was in the affirmative because it's just too pretty to pass up.
Happy ks Posted August 16, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 16, 2011 You will see every interpretation of "formal" that you can imagine. You dress will be somewhere mid-point. I'm comfortable telling you that your dress is fine.
Langley Cruisers Posted August 16, 2011 #6 Share Posted August 16, 2011 Oooo, they have some pretty dresses there, you're right! How lovely. Do you have a black shawl to go with it?

I don't, but for the $6 they're asking for a shawl on the site I'll probably get one with the dress. Happy ks, midpoint is definitely my target. Thank you (and Langley Cruisers) for responding too. Nebr.cruiser Posted August 16, 2011 #8 Share Posted August 16, 2011 It will be fine. No, it's not true formal, which you already know, but as others have said, it will be about the middle of 'dressy' for formal night. It would also be great for the other nights. Spoiledliz Posted August 16, 2011 #9 Share Posted August 16, 2011 In an effort to be as honest as your requesting, although the dress is gorgeous I think it looks more like a beautiful negligee. The way its cut and the silky looking material gives me this impression. But please, that's not to say its not a significant improvement on what I've seen others wear! Rare Kinkacruiser Posted August 16, 2011 #10 Share Posted August 16, 2011 This is more in keeping with the 'party' mood of your cruise, so I say acceptable. The shawl is good.
