i am going solo, and when i booked, i told the booking agent that i didn't know what to request for dining, and my reasons. she said she would put me with anytime dining. i haven't gone on my cruise yet, so i don't know what i will do yet, anytime or buffet. going solo is not always best in the dining room.

We have a single friend we sail with and sometimes we link our bookings together and sit together at dinner (not any time dining) and sometimes he is 'single' and gets seated at a big table with other singles, sometimes it work for meeting people to hang with and sometimes it doesn't.

Quote: I guess, according to the latest posts that I'm either crazy or a liar-probably both. It's funny to me that you folks who weren't on the cruise are calling us liars based based on what other people who also weren't on the cruise are telling you.

No. We didn't go to the passenger services desk to inquire. We figured itTake it or leave it

Yep

Don't misconstrue what I posted. I posted that we figured it was a fluke for some reason that the buffet was not open on our cruise for some reason, we never asked about it. I've been around here long enough that most people here, I believe, would not call me a liar.

I remember making a comment about the Lido being closed-back then-on someone else's thread. Most of the comments were disbelief. One person thought it might be just an "Alaska" thing". Who knows? I don't come on this forum to perpetuate lies and rumors. But apparently, you have nothing better to do.

Ok, what's this I hear that Carnival is now closing the buffett at 4:00 p.m. and not offering anything other than pizza and salad in the evenings?

This information was straight off the Spirit out of Seattle last week. My daughter said they could not get anything from the buffett after 4:00 p.m. - no dinner meals....

What the heck is going on?

I believe JH correctly forwarded what that chef said, but was that the chef currently onboard the Spirit? Were they onboard the Spirit in 08?

Unlike many here, I am not willing to dismiss out of hand an account from a long time poster with no history of exaggerations simply because a Carnival spokesman busy running the entertainment staff on a different ship said so. Let alone two separate accounts of this type of situation on that ship, on that run.

That is what JH answered about, not 2008.

Anyone now complaining about 2008 is a little too late.

I believe the OP and the other lady who sailed in 2008. They have no need to lie.. There is no nee to flame her and be rude and call them liars.. is there a possibilty of a slight mix up? maybe.. Maybe their watches were set to their home time instead of ships time, Maybe the buffet was out by the pool instead for some reason? I am more prone to belive some one who ACTUALLY sailed that crusie then some one who wasnt even there! I've sailed the spirit and the legend both have the same lay outs the Pizza place IS in the BUFFET area there is no way she could have missed it or been in a wrong area unless the buffet was out by the pool. SO I am more proen to belive there was a mix up with timign rather than location if she said she checked the buffet area and there was nothing being served then I believe her since the pizza is served RIGHT in the buffet area! NO way she coudl ahve missed it unless lie kI said it was moved to a compeltely differnt area of the ship like maybe the middle pool or something She just asked a question people get over your selfs. there is a great saying that goes "if you dont have anything nice to say DONT SAY ANYTHING AT ALL" I think the majority of you better get yourselfs in check... one day your gonna be rude to the wrong person and karma is gonna be pretty painful :D
