Another false story by this publication and the Anchorage papers. Carnival Corp. profits for the qtr ending 6/30/ 11 are down 23% to .23 from .32/share in the year ago qtr. After a slow start (May, June and July, the cruise lines have been sold out in Aug. and Sept. Once the word gets out for the spectacular scenery in Alaska, the cruise ships have filled up.

The RCL guy actually said that they didn't have to give big discounts this year.

The luxury class Crystal Symphony is cruising Alaska now virtually sold out. A real chunk of money for that cruise.

If you cashed in some stocks in May/June to pay for your August cruise you automatically saved 30% by not losing it in the market!
