Any Time Dining Question

Have never done ATD on a Carnival ship and wonder if it works the same way as we did on Princess. We could call to the dining room in the morning and request a dining time and a speciic waiter. In essence making a reservation. Can this be done on Carnival? We are a group of 5 and would like to have a table for 5 in the MDR.

On our last cruise we had anytime dining for the first time. During the first couple of days we found a waiter we liked. Then each evening we requested to be sat in that waiters area. On a couple of occasions we had to wait for a table. (They give you a beeper so you can go to the bar or wander around.) This way we could have the waiter we liked and they in turn gave us great service and we could eat whenever we were ready (most of the time).
