-Lew- Posted September 4, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2011 In the last few years we have docked at both Crown Bay and Havensight. Lew
WeBeGone Posted September 4, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 4, 2011 I believe it can be either, depending on which ships get there first. Either way is not bad though. There is plenty of transportation to get you to "town".
toberman Posted September 4, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2011 Where do the Princess shis dock in St Thomas? Is it Crown Bay? Yes - Princess has a contract to dock there so 99% of the time they do. However, so does HAL, RCI and QM2.... so if 2 other ships get in first or any mega ship is in port then Princess will go to Havensite.
Rare teacherman Posted September 4, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 4, 2011 Last March, we were on Emerald Princess. St Thomas was VERY crowded with ships, so we were anchored and tendered right into the main part of town.

-Lew- Posted September 4, 2011 #7 Share Posted September 4, 2011 ...we were anchored and tendered right into the main part of town. We were anchored in the middle of the bay on our first port of call ever in St. Thomas on the Disney Magic. Tendering was quick and efficient and most convenient to town. Enjoying a late lunch on the open aft patio was magical. Watching all the water traffic as well as the sea planes was very enjoyable. I'd welcome that again anytime... ROXIETHEHORSE Posted September 4, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted September 4, 2011 We will be on the Ruby, and it looks like one other ship scheduled to be in port that day on Nov 10th. So it looks like Crown Bay will probably be it!! Thanks everyone!
Putterdude Posted September 5, 2011 #9 Share Posted September 5, 2011 The St Thomas cruise ship docking sked is only showing docking thru the end of October, 2011 so at this point it would be anyones guess. In January when we were on the Ruby we docked in Heavensight but that likely means nothing for a November docking.
MERLOTCHAMPAGNE Posted September 5, 2011 #10 Share Posted September 5, 2011 We've been to St Thomas numerous times on RCL and always docked at Havensight and either done private tours or headed over to St. John's. We're curious as to whether Crown Bay has the "shopping mall" that Havensight does? Also for this trip, after we do a little shopping at the pier, we'd like to head in town or elsewhere for a relaxing lunch. Any recommendations?? Thanks

ROXIETHEHORSE Posted September 5, 2011 Author #12 Share Posted September 5, 2011 I guess it does not really matter since the island is not all that big. Just trying to figure out our starting point!! :D We either want to take a taxi to Magens Bay Beach or to Sapphire Beach. We are only going to stay at the beach for a max of 2 hours. Then take a taxi to Charlotte Amalie area for shopping and lunch. We would also like to go to Mountain Top to see the views. We are in port from 7am to 4pm. Hope we can fit it all in!! Putterdude...where do you find the docking schedule for St Thomas? I looked on cruisett dot com which just shows the number of ships in port. Thanks! FawnRiver Posted September 5, 2011 #13 Share Posted September 5, 2011 In January, we were on the Ruby and docked at Havensight, while the Emerald was docked at Crown Bay. It will depend on the number of ships expected, what itinerary you're on and who gets there first, I think. The Ruby was on the Eastern Caribbean itinerary while the Emerald was on the Southern Caribbean itinerary. You can go to the virgin islands website www.********** to look at the cruise ship schedules to see who is at which dock on which island.
5fathom Posted September 5, 2011 #14 Share Posted September 5, 2011 Last Oct on the Grand we were at Havensight. Caribbean Princess was at Crown. You never know !
DonnaK Posted September 5, 2011 #15 Share Posted September 5, 2011 I believe that the general rule of thumb is that Princess docks at Crown Bay unless Oasis or Allure are in port at the same time (because they cannot dock at Havensight, so they dock at Crown Bay instead)
champagne lover Posted September 6, 2011 #16 Share Posted September 6, 2011 when we go on Sun 16th October we are the only ship so guess we'll be at Crown Bay then.
