Fort lauderdale airport car rentals

We will be renting a car at FLL post-cruise. The FLL website says the different agencies are on 4 different levels. Is that so??

Is there a free car rental shuttle from the cruise port to FLL??

Only National/Alamo has a free shuttle to/from FLl to the port. Most of the other companies have shuttles to off-airport locations.

and yes the rental desks are on a couple floors...all in the same building though...sounds like a PITA but really it isnt bad.....

Having experienced long lines at the FLL airport we joined the Fast program with both Budget and Thrifty. You can do this on line before making your reservation. Once you have your number you include it in your reservation. Upon arrival rather that standing in the line at the indoor rental counter you go out into the parking garage and line up at the booth there. Your contract will be waiting for you.

You may want to consider renting from Thrifty right outside the port, rather than going back to the airport. I had rented from FLL pre-cruise and then dropped the car off right outside the port. Thrifty provides free shuttle service to/from the port.
