Bermuda in April?

We have never been to Bermuda before but are considering a cruise in Late April....has anyone cruised there around that time? Is the temperature comfortable enough to to beach-y type stuff? What about at sea...I assume the breeze will make it quite chilly on deck? Is there enough to do in port to cover a few days time?

Any thoughts would help, thanks ;)

Lived there for 18 years and we didn't go "Overboard" as they say until late May and that was only the Canadians! Most Bermudians won't touch the water 'til Early June.

There is still lots to do and see in Bermuda and you can still sit on the beach even if the water is too cold.

A beautiful place.Enjoy:)

Here is a partial list of Bermuda to dos:

  • beaches, most popular - Horseshoe Bay;
  • snorkeling - at Tobacco Bay, near St George & Church Bay, near HSB;
  • Bermuda Aquarium Museum & Zoo (BAMZ);
  • caves - Crystal & Fantasy;
  • UNESCO World Heritage Center - St George;
  • sea glass collecting;
  • horseback riding on beach;
  • visiting forts: Fort Hamilton, Fort St Catherine, Scaur Hill Fort;
  • lighthouses: Gibbs L/H (can climb), St Davids L/H
  • shopping: Hamilton, Clocktower Mall Dockyard;
  • helmet dive;
  • dolphin swim;
  • tasting at the rum cake factory;
  • Bermuda Maritime Museum, Dockyard;
  • golfing - Port Royal Golf Course;
  • botanical gardens;
  • Bermuda Underwater Exploration Inst.;
  • hiking/biking the Railway Trail;
  • Unfinished Church, SG;
  • climb the bell tower of the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinty, Hamilton for outstanding view;
  • Paget Marsh nature trail;
  • visit the Dockyard Glassworks for demo.

Bermuda has an excellent public transportation system of buses and ferries. I think that everything I listed is on a bus route. I bet you can't do them all during your stay.

Interesting, since most locals here in SWFL do not enter the water until about March 1, but the tourists do it earlier. The beach water temperature here in SWFL, in January and February, is usually in the mid to high 60'S.
