We are sailing on the Westerdam 12/4 to the Eastern Caribbean! Our first, looking forward to it!:D

We are sailing on the Statendaam on the above date -- around New Zealand and ending in Sydney.

 

We will have 3 days in Auckland and the Auckland area before sailing and would love suggestions for moderately a moderately priced hotel in Auckland.

 

I've been reading a lot of the postings about food. We've been on the Ryndam on the South American route (Valparaiso to Rio) and the Prisendaam from Sydney to Singapore. Most of the food was good, some excellent and some just so- so. If I didn't like something, they took it back and brought something else. Nothing was horrific -- I could always find something that was suitable, but then I eat anything that doesn't eat me first.

Mexican Riviera on the Ryndam..12/07/05. It's our retirement cruise for my partner and I. We have been on 12 cruises and been on HA once before on the Ryndam. Our favorite is Celebrity transAtlantics. It's been about 8 years since we were on HA....what can we expect???

 

As a railfan, I was interested in the Copper Canyon shore excursion...but from earlier threads...it's not worth it...my partner nixed it because of cost cost. Is he right?

Paul and Debbi are booked on the Westerdam (Western Caribbean) on Nov 27. We originally were booked on the Veendam on Nov 26 but switched to allow some friends to join us.

My husband, daughter, mother-in-law, father-in-law & myself are cruising on the Westerdam on 11/20/05 (Eastern Caribbean). It's our third cruise on HAL (in-laws second). We seem to be going backwards alphabetically...Zuiderdam, Zaandam now Westerdam. :)
