geosand Posted September 16, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2011 Can anyone give me an idea of the cost of internet on this ship? Thanks
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 16, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2011 Internet Prices The advantage of having your own laptop is that you can work off-line and then just copy and paste once you are online -- will save minutes. The internet is slooooow. There is a one time $3.95 activation fee. Plan 1 - $0.75 per minute Plan 2 - $55 for 100 minutes Plan 3 - $100 for 250 minutes. Most ships will offer 10 free minutes for Plan 2 and 20 free minutes for Plan 3 if you sign up for a plan on embarkation day. Also check the Explorer daily program for other specials throughout the cruise. Like Happy Hour where you can be on line for 30 minutes and be charged for only 15. English_in_Spain Posted September 16, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2011 Also, FYI. We were on the Noordam last year. I took my netbook and was able to get a reasonable wireless internet connection (including during the transatlantic crossing) in our cabin on deck 6 (6068). During the cruise there were several packages on special offer at various times.
sail7seas Posted September 16, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2011 We were mid-ship on Rotterdam Deck on Noordam in March and I had to leave my cabin door open in order to get a signal.... our cabin was right across from Neptune Lounge. But in the lounge the signal was always fine.
terkatz56 Posted September 16, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 16, 2011 I was in room 1056 and got a great signal, beats going up and waiting to get on. Sometimes the computer lounge can be crowded.
jtl513 Posted September 17, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 17, 2011 I was in room 1056 and got a great signal, ...That's because you were just three cabins away from an antenna, at 1066!
