Cheapest time to cruise?

What's everyones opinion on when is the cheapest time to book a cruise? My limited research is showing around January is typically cheaper.

I have found january to be the cheapest too, and then sept.

I've started cruising in October d/t cheaper prices. Usually mid September the fares start going down cause that's when hurricane season is most active.

Middle September to Middle December skipping Thanksgiving. Than January to early March.

Agree. We have always done fall (Sept - Oct) and prices are cheaper than any other time unless you book a last minute special.

We find it cheaper in Jan and Feb for balconys, unless its a players club deal. Depends on where you want to go and what ship.

I find the cheapest between Thanksgiving and Christmas because most others are getting for Christmas.

Actually, it seems like when kids are out of school, prices are double compared to when kids are in school. That is obviously a generalization but a good rule of thumb. When kids are out of school, the prices soar.

You might also look at the weeks just after spring breaks.

The cheapest time to cruise seems to be the first two weeks in December. I read the question as about when to book it. I guess you wait for pack and go one to two months out.

First two weeks December inside 379 4F , 359 4E and first week January 4 day 229 PT Empress. We usually sail first two weeks of Dec annually and seem to find great rates. Enjoy your cruise all...:D

It depends on where you are cruising. The Caribbean is generally less expensive from mid-September through mid-December.

 

Then it also comes down to demand. If a cruise isn't selling it will be discounted so last minute deals are more likely.

 

If you are cruising Europe then it is Fall. If you are cruising Asia then it is late Spring but these cruises are few and far between.
