Is there a phone number to reach the Oasis of the Sea in case of a family emergency?

What is the number and what kind of charges would be involved?

There will be. Charges will probably be around international charges.

 

I believe you are given the number in your cruise documentation. If you don't have access to this, you can try calling one of the numbers listed here - http://www.royalcaribbean.com.au/customersupport/contactUs.do someone should be able to provide you with the direct number.

Here's the information from the RCI website:

"Your friends and family can contact the ship by calling (888) 724-SHIP. Or from outside the U.S. they can call (732) 335-3285. The cost is $7.95 USD a minute and can be charged to their American Express®, MasterCard®, Visa®, Discover® or Diners Club®. From outside the U.S. additional long distance charges will also apply.

 

You can make ship-to-shore calls from your stateroom, 24 hours a day. The cost is $7.95 USD per minute and will be automatically charged to your SeaPassSM account."

Also note that the $7.95 is charged to to both the sender and receiver, so the the actual charge is about $16.00 per minute. It is cheaper to get a cell phone with international access.

I dont think this is correct?? It says it will be charged to the sender's credit card .. not the receivers.

 

I know for Carnival its $9.50 per minute and only the person calling pays the charge.

When you use the number to call the ship it is charged to the person making the call.

 

If you have a cell phone that will work on the ship I would consider bringing that.

Be careful using your cell phone on the ship- if you are at sea, you will be using the ship's facilities and the charge is very high!

If you change to international plans, Iv seen rates as low as $2.49 per minute with free or very cheap texting plans.
