This will be the second attempt to ask if anyone has been on Fred Olsen's Braemar?

My last thread was viewed 50 times and only one person replied!

I have not been on the ship but here are some links found with a goggle search on it.

You might want to try searching the Internet with the keywords

Fred Olsen's Braemar

And see what you come up with.

Have a great next cruise.

I'm sorry nobody replied to your query about the Braemar. I registered with this forum so that I could reply.

We went on a 13 night cruise on the Braemar last year. This was from Dover, through the Kiel Canal, Stockholm, Tallinn, St Petersburg, Gdynia / Gdansk, Copenhagen and Oslo, then back to Dover. We loved it. There were six of us in our party and we all had the same view.

Our cabin was a B on the Lido deck (two along from the Captain's). It was small, but couldn't otherwise be faulted. We had previously been on the Black Watch, and yes it was smaller than that.

The ship is very pleasant - small but better for that. It has the marvellous set of terraces at the stern that become the focal point each day. Marvellous sitting there going through the Canal.

There are two restaurants - the main one and the cafe. We ate in the main one almost exclusively. The crew were good - we didn't actually like our main table steward. The deck gang were always chatty and friendly though and we felt that the crew make Fred Olsen.

We have booked again for this year - this time back to the Black Watch, just after her major refit. We will be very interested to see what they have done to her as there are some major reorganisations taking place, as well as new engines.

If there is anything specific you'd like to ask, please do so.

Regards

David

We have also been on Braemar though only for a four night mini cruise. We were very happy with her. We had an inside cabin high up in the ship which was a good size and comfortable. The food was good plain fare which we also enjoyed. I would possibly rate Black Watch slightly higher mainly because it has the large wrapround lounge at the top which we like very much. Otherwise they are both good.
