Miss Jet Set Posted September 18, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2011 Calling all fans of Anita Mann who has been in charge of that department for some time. I found out that Seabourn are dispensing with her service on the 30th September. I sent and EM several weeks ago to Rick Meadows telling him what a 'gem' she has been to SB and I know that a lot of passengers feel the same as we do. She will be greatly missed which is what I is more or less told Mr. Meadows hoping they might change their mind, however I have had no acknowledgement but then from previous experience I should not be surprised. Martita B. Posted September 18, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2011 I'm also a huge fan of Miss Anita. She certainlywill be sorely missed ~one never had to worry with their luggage when they used the Seabourn's Valet service. I'm already missing the great service Anita provided ~:D Martita B. wripro Posted September 18, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2011 Are they going to replace Anita with someone else? If so, why replace a proven asset with an unproven one? If not, how are they planning on dealing with shipped luggage?
Martita B. Posted September 18, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2011 Seabourn is not replacing Anita. They 'suggest' using Luggage Forward. I'm very disappointed as I've used the Valet service for years ~ 'Peachy is using Luggage forward in Nov. to Europe (Malaga) and back from Ft Laud. I'm sure he'll post a review. Margate Cruiser Posted September 19, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 19, 2011 I think she should open her own business work out of her home as she has been. She knows all the ins and outs of the business. I would book threw her in a minute. If enough people contact her to convince her to start a little company i am sure she could make a nice living. Let Seabourn have a little completion when it's our bags. her e mail address is still the same till the end of the month. So let her know your feelings. I did. wripro Posted September 19, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2011 It has been one of the great luxuries os sailing Seabourn to have someone in house to handle shipping luggage. For them to recommend an outside company diminishes, imo, the overall quality of the Seabourn experience.
Sonrisa7 Posted September 20, 2011 #7 Share Posted September 20, 2011 I used Luggage Forward in August from my home to the ship in Athens and was very pleased with their service.
wripro Posted September 20, 2011 #8 Share Posted September 20, 2011 I agree that Luggage Forward is a very good service. However, it is not the same as receiving all your forms filled out by Seabourn and, if something went wrong, it was Seabourn's responsibility to make good on it, not yours.
