ofey100 Posted September 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2011 I am travelling to the following places next month....does anyone know of where you can get free wifi..ie macdonalds, starbucks etc. I went on a world cruise earlier this year and found that going to macdonalds at every port to use their free wifi was a major port of call!!! St Maarten Tortola - Virgin Islands Grand Turk - Turks & Caicos St Kitts - St Kitts Antigua - Antigua and Barbuda St Lucia - Saint Lucia Dominica - Dominica St Vincent - Saint Vincent & Grenadines
Rare Essiesmom Posted September 22, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2011 Not sure how free it was, but on St. Kitts, when I came back from my excursion, there were people sitting outside the terminal with laptops...EM
TALYBRYN Posted September 24, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 24, 2011 On my last cruise I noticed crew members going ashore with lap tops and inquired where there were going, the reply was to contact family and friends on free wifi.So if you want to know where its free ask your cabin staff. They have been to all these ports many times and know the best places. MattyBarlow Posted September 24, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2011 The bar next to the dock in Antigua has free wifi.
KenAndJulie Posted September 24, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 24, 2011 Also note that access to the P&O forum, groups, images etc. is free of charge while onboard (via the ships PCs or wifi connection). If all you want to do is keep in touch with family/friends then you can make posts on the board or, for more private communications, set up a closed group. kevinyork Posted September 24, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 24, 2011 Have to say Im not sure I would wish to spend my time looking for wifi hotspots and typing emails whilst on these lovely islands. I would just tell all my friends, 'see you in two weeks' and maybe send the occassional text.
Cinderella Surrey Posted September 26, 2011 #7 Share Posted September 26, 2011 Hi, if you have an I -phone or I-Pad you can download an Ap called "Free Wi-Fi Finder". It's a free Ap and you just type in where you are and it will give you the local "hot spots" for free Wi-Fi, even if you are off line.;)
fenwick699 Posted October 11, 2011 #8 Share Posted October 11, 2011 Quite a few free on Grand Turk on the beach. Got good access at a bar in St Maarten, just caught the ferry got off turned left and the bar was on the front, the ones in the town wanted payment, so all it cost us was a coke and an orange juice plus we had a lovely view of the sea.
