steeners81 Posted September 28, 2011 Author #76 Share Posted September 28, 2011 First I wandered through the building that had vendors set up on the inside. It was nice but nothing that interested me. A lot of wood carvings. Then I headed up the boardwalk with vendors , the first few vendors were fine but it seemed that the longer I walked the more pushy the people got. One guy actually blocked my way until I looked at his stuff, which didn’t scare me but did p*ss me off. I wish they would understand that the more they push the less likely I am to look at their products. I was very happy to get through there. I did manage to purchase 2 bracelets that I loved for a decent price. The end of the boardwalk dropped off you down where the aqua park is. It did not seem that popular Another shot of the ship on my way back to the volleyball courts They had these nice hammocks all over the place and I saw a lot of free ones so I guess either people didn’t realize they were there or didn’t want to use them After meeting back up with Cody we decided to head back to the ship and eat at the seafood shack for lunch This is a blurry shot but this is the escalator which you get on after going through security on the ship Next up
steeners81 Posted September 28, 2011 Author #77 Share Posted September 28, 2011 I really wanted to try the seafood shack because I had heard really bad thing and really good things about and I wanted to judge for myself. Plus they had coconut shrimp. First up for an app we had the coconut shrimp which was delicious, the only thing I didn’t like is usually coconut comes with some sort of sweet dipping sauce and this didn’t. And we also had the Cajun popcorn shrimp I then had the grilled Cajun platter with the Cajun potato wedges. It was excellent I don’t even like fish fillets and I actually enjoyed this We also decided to share the seafood basket for 2 with sweet potato fried. I only tried a piece of a scallop but it was tasty. I loved the sweet potato fries. I really wanted to try the banana split but I was way to stuffed. After lunch we wandered around for a bit then headed to bingo where we lost. Yeah I am seeing a trend.

steeners81 Posted September 28, 2011 Author #81 Share Posted September 28, 2011 For dinner we started off with the strawberry bisque Creamy Roasted Garlic Soup And the scallop Risotto We all love the scallop risotto Than we had the chicken Marsala ( it was delicious so juicy) And the garlic tiger shrimp The waiter did come around to offer to help get the shrimp out of the shell but I find it more fun to try and do it myself. By the third one I got it without making to much of a mess.
steeners81 Posted September 28, 2011 Author #82 Share Posted September 28, 2011 Since it was Codys grandfathers birthday the waiters came and sang happy birthday to him He got a Happy Birthday Tiramisu And the rest of us got the low-fat angel food cake Once again all the food was great and the service was wonderful. We had asked our waiter Morgan if we could get out to make a 7:30 show (Codys grandmother missed the Oasis of the seas on the first night) and he had us out of there by 7. We decided to run and see if we could get out pictures taken with the penguins OK I posted this picture to show you how bad the lighting is out on the boardwalk at night which is a shame because a lot of the character meet and greets were at night out there. The ones from the professional photographers did come out better We were also able to see Puss in boots that night And Gobber from how to train your Dragon ( My fav dreamworks movie) We went to play bingo at 10 and yup we lost again ( for the record I can’t complain about losing I have won the snowball jackpot once,5,000, and a free cruise and a bunch of smaller cash prizes so I still think I am ahead money wise for a little bit longer ). Oh and this is the night you can get the cute shots like the first one in the review where you are laying down…advice to the ladies don’t wear a short dress and try this. It is quite difficult but amusing to everyone else around you.

Mikeyz30 Posted September 28, 2011 #84 Share Posted September 28, 2011 What was the cost of the Seafood Shack? Is it per item or a set fee like the other specialty restaurants? Was it worth the price? Thanks Mike

Was it worth the price? Thanks Mike It was per item. I believe the bill was about $22. I thought it was worth it the food was really good. Anyone who I talked to that went there seemed to really enjoy it. The menu is up on the RCCL site with the prices

steeners81 Posted September 28, 2011 Author #88 Share Posted September 28, 2011 Woke up to this view this morning We didn’t want to go to the windjammer for breakfast so we decided to give Johnny Rockets a shot (there is no cost for breakfast). I got The “Works” which is grilled country potatoes blended cheese, onions, bell pepper, tomato & ham. When I first saw it I was a little nervous but it is awesome. Cody got the French toast Which he said was good. Got some picture of Falmouth as we were pulling in It seems like they are very close to being finished. I saw them still painting some of the shops and some of the larger buildings still need work
Rare Familygoboston Posted September 28, 2011 #89 Share Posted September 28, 2011 Isn't it funny- I read all the reviews 'cause you never know where you'll pick up a tid bit or two! So glad you posted yours for the reasons I already mentioned!( I'm canoli girl) But now you have made my day AGAIN! Love the Compasses- they could only be more perfect if they were eastern;). I learned that not only are the Sun and Mon night NFL games shown,( we've arranged our shows around Pats/Colts Sunday night:rolleyes:.) but they are advertised on the Compass! This makes me v happy. Also, like you, I've been wondering about the mixed reviews on seafood shack! My DH goes to JR for burgers and I chew on fries because I don't eat meat. Seems like Oasis has something for me too. Sure looked good to me! Question for you- can you get stuff to go or eat outdoors? Im wondering if DH and I can each order from different places and eat together on the BW? Thanks and looking forward to Jamaica, Mon!

Hypo Posted September 29, 2011 #98 Share Posted September 29, 2011 You can get escargot nearly every night on Oasis. Just ask you head waiter if he would special order escargot for you for every night that you want them. we did and had them four nights. He must have the order at least twenty four hours in advance of the dinner when you wish to eat them. this also applies for any other special request menu items that you might wish to have. BTW, we were on this cruise with you and we had a great time, also. Hypo
