1stTimeCruiser2008 Posted October 6, 2011 #201 Share Posted October 6, 2011 Sorry I promise I will finish the last day next week. And since the powers that be still have my picture website blocked at work I can not finish it at work but I will try and get :confused:it up on Monday or Tuesday night. I'm so jealous!! Have fun at Disney :D
petesweet Posted October 6, 2011 #202 Share Posted October 6, 2011 Oh my god he was hysterical. I never understood how people made such a big deal about a cruise director until now. I would love to sail on another cruise with him. That is how I always felt - until I got back from our cruise last week. Richard Spacey is definitely one of a kind. Loving your review. steeners81 Posted October 18, 2011 Author #207 Share Posted October 18, 2011 Im back. Its bad when I could not figure out how to find my review. I am leaving to go on the Celebrity Summit in 6 days so I need to get this done. Real quick we had a great time in Disney if anyone is a Disney fan and loves Halloween I suggest going down there for the party. This was our teaser we head down for a week in Jan. Back to the review So on Friday we decided to sleep in and eat breakfast on our balcony. We had checked between 8:30 and 9 for our food to be delivered. I rolled over and checked my watch and it was 8:45. I freaked that we missed room service ( Yeah not like I couldn’t have just walked up a few flights of stairs for breakfast) but a few minutes later our phone rang and we were told room service was on its way. We luckily had a beautiful morning but breakfast was eh. Some stuff we ordered did not show up-hashbrowns, apple juice, bananas (they said they ran out on the ship). There was a lot of bacon but it was not cooked enough for me. The pastries were good though and you can not go wrong with cereal. After this we headed to play bingo, yup we lost. though with this many cards you think we would have won something Then it was off to lunch, we decided to hit the park café again. I love those salads. I got a bag of doritos there to. I love Doritos the only thing that would have been better is if they had cool ranch. Oh a little tip, don’t think I had mentioned yet… I like the flavor enhanced water and they had a lemon lime flavored and the only place I could find it consistently was the Park café. Cody got the roast beef sandwich..again Picture of some of the pastries at the park cafe
steeners81 Posted October 18, 2011 Author #208 Share Posted October 18, 2011 Fruit cups and paninis at the park cafe So after lunch Cody headed up to sign up for the crew vs guest pool volleyball while I decided to wander. I wandered right to the windjammer for lunch to try a piece of chicken and rice. It was yummy. Plus there was no way I could go through a whole cruise and never had eaten at the windjammer for lunch. Then I headed up to watch the volleyball game. They got killed…badly. One tam did manage to beat the crew though and you could tell they were not happy about it. To anyone who is curious that is Richard Spacey the CD After this we headed up to the adult volleyball competition. Well Cody headed up and I decided to wander a bit and eat some more ( I am a bottomless pit…wish I had the metabolism to go along with that). First I browsed through the Del Sol store on board then I headed to the wipeout café. The pretzel dog was really really good
steeners81 Posted October 18, 2011 Author #209 Share Posted October 18, 2011 After my 2nd lunch I realized I had not tried the ice cream yet. Chocolate and strawberry together...yum At this point I was beginning to feel a little sick so I stopped eating..for a bit. Got a quick picture of the dodgeball team, they came in third (Yay) out of three teams lol.:p Afterthis we decided to head back to the cabin and pack. Cody wanted to play volleyball at 4 so we were short on time. Normally I have to be very careful what I pack because I head straight to the airport but since I was spending time at Codys after I could use the throw all my crap in a suitcase and I will sort it out later method. It worked beautifully. After we packed we walked out on the balcony and could not believe how flat the water was. I felt like we were on a lake instead of the ocean. Also in our room we had a plate of cookies from our cabin attendant staff. I only tried one but they were good.
steeners81 Posted October 18, 2011 Author #210 Share Posted October 18, 2011 Cody headed to go play volleyball while I made my way down to the skating rink to see Frozen In time. I had scanned my ticket and found seats with Codys family when I remembered there was a necklace I wanted to buy so I figured I had time to run and do that. Apparently someone gave Codys family an attitude about saving seats. I had to laugh because A) I had already scanned our tickets and B) there was only like 50 people in the theater at the time and we were not in prime seats. I don’t get people some times. On the way i saw Shrek playing with the touch screens Frozen in time Ok I didn’t love the show. I loved the show on Liberty so was really looking forward to this but just left feeling eh. The sand artist was great but the show not so much. I actually wished I had went to play bingo instead. After dinner we stopped by the Diamond lounge (in Blaze), they were checking cards. We just popped in, looked around, then headed out...it was pretty crowded. Then we headed to dinner...the menu for tonight

It was fun we took out spot up in the diamond lounge again. Then we headed back to cabin and had this on our bed
steeners81 Posted October 18, 2011 Author #213 Share Posted October 18, 2011 After this I made Cody do what I do on the last night of every cruise…take pictures of everything. I will post a lot of random pics at the end of the review. During our picture taking we ran across Po from Kung fu panda and we got out pic taken. After this we stopped at the cafe promenade to grab a sandwich. [/url] the bread was good the filling not so much We headed back to our cabin where i had my creamsicle cupcake waiting At this point we decided we wanted room service. Looking back we weren't hungry we just wanted to have some honey stung chicken i got a Caesar salad honey stung chicken

brookmill18 Posted October 18, 2011 #216 Share Posted October 18, 2011 Thank you so much for writing this report--we are first time cruisers and your information is wonderful!! I hate to add to your list, but could you send me the kids' schedules as well--we don't know quite to expect and would love to see it! Thank you again for all the time that went into this report! juliettehart@me.com
jetravel Posted October 19, 2011 #217 Share Posted October 19, 2011 What a wonderful review. I am booked July 2013  so far away! It will be my daughter's 16th birthday, - girls only cruise. Although looking at the pictures, I am bummed that my son will not be going as he would love all the characters. If the kids compass includes teenage activies, if you could email it to me. If it is younger crowd, then I do not need it. jbode@atlanticbb.net Thank you!
ZoeyVictoria Posted October 19, 2011 #218 Share Posted October 19, 2011 I felt the same way about Frozen in Time. By the last day of the cruise, Dave and I were splitting up so we could catch more of the things we had missed. I did the ice show, he did bingo. I wished I had gone to bingo with him because I just didn't get into the show. I thought it was a bit boring and I was constantly nervous for the skaters who kept falling and falling and falling... I made reservations for the ice show on the Allure in two weeks just in case, but I suspect two people in the standby line will wind up in our seats. Yeah the story just didn't interest me and they fell a couple of times which made me nervous also. You can give it a shot on the allure it is a different show. digitalknoll Posted October 19, 2011 #222 Share Posted October 19, 2011 Hi there, Let me say thank you for all the great info on the Oasis. I am leaving for the eastern trip in two days and your info had been very insightful. I have onle question for you if you have time. Were you able to get right to your stateroom once you boarded the ship the fist day? reason is that i'm bringing garment bags with me and i dont want to have them checked in with the regular luggage (wrinkles). i was hoping to be able to go straight to the room. i think we will be boarding around noon if that helps any. thanks again for all the great pics and info! -DK
CroozinFamily Posted October 19, 2011 #223 Share Posted October 19, 2011 All staterooms are available at 1pm. So, it depends on what time you board. If it is before 1pm, then you will have to hold onto your garment bags.
