rental car in Galveston?

I am getting a headache trying to figure this all out!!!

 

We are getting off of the Truimph on a Thursday morning in January and our flight isn't until Friday morning out of Hobby. We want to rent a car once off the boat in the morning and return it at the airport that same evening.

 

How many rental car places are there that still exist? Or who do you recommend? Or is this even possible?

 

Or would renting a car at Hobby and just parking it for the week be easier or cheaper??

Update... we used priceline to get a rental car for the week ($144 total for a midsize) and will just park it at the hotel or one of the lots.
