Overnight stay at Venice

Can you disembark anytime you want when you stay overnight at Venice (on the last night for example) ?

Do you have to get back to the ship at a special time or can you "party" at Venice until early morning ?

We will be overnighting in Venice on the Solstice at the end of the month. Just recently I read that the gangway is open 24 hrs but the people mover that connects the Vaporetto to the ship closes around 11PM. I guess you could walk from the vaporetto stop to the ship, but no one mentioned how late the vapopretti run. I don't even know if the ship's shuttle, for which you need a prepaid pass, runs all night.

And another question on same topic-

 

Cruise we are considering next year begins in Venice but stays overnight there the first night leaving at 5PM the next day. Does anyone know if you can check in after the first night during the day? We might have schedule conflict that would be corrected if we could do this. Thanks for any help.
