m steve Posted October 3, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2011 Will there be some changes on HAL as well? They are adding both a rum bar and a tequila bar on the Carnival ships as well as comedy programs. I wonder if they will improve the selections on HAL ships without getting the Carnival feeling. I would like to see more rum bar selections on the Caribbean cruises.
eh2zed Posted October 3, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2011 HAL is a separate operating entity. They will add these new services if their business model says to do so.
SmokinActuary Posted October 3, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 3, 2011 I would like HAL to improve their beer selection. Some nice rums would be great too! :D
Krazy Kruizers Posted October 3, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2011 And where would HAL add these new bars? I sure wouldn't want to see either the Crow's Nest or Ocean Bar dedicated to just one type of bar.
Jemima Posted October 3, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 3, 2011 Hasn't HAL already updated their lounges as part of the Signature of Excellence?
SmokinActuary Posted October 4, 2011 #6 Share Posted October 4, 2011 No need for new bars, just some better choices of beer and spirits!
mllewis48 Posted October 4, 2011 #7 Share Posted October 4, 2011 The new Mix on the Veendam was great when we were on our Bermuda Cruise. It had premium draft beers at one bar, Martini's at another and Champagne at another with the piano bar next to all three, very nice.
sail7seas Posted October 4, 2011 #8 Share Posted October 4, 2011 I don't drink beer but DH and I liked MIX on Maasdam very much more than we expected. The lights from the shops are too bright at night but on the whole, it is a better use of the space than existed before. It definitely brought more people out and about than in the past. There seemed to be more selection of beer there than in Ocean Bar.
BearInStPete Posted October 4, 2011 #9 Share Posted October 4, 2011 I think the important take-away from the announcements about the new innovations on Carnival is that Carnival's corporate stance is to announce innovation and options to the cruise guest that are NOT extra charge venues. Hopefully this will be the culture for all the Carnival family of cruise lines!
m steve Posted October 5, 2011 Author #10 Share Posted October 5, 2011 some of their offerings are better than on HAL. I prefer their supper clubs to the Pinnacle but that's the only thing that they do better. Their libraries are a joke. I have a better selection at home.
