Couple of Fantasy ??

Since my Fantasy cruise is fastly approaching, I have a couple of easy questions.

1) Are the room doors on the Fantasy metal? As in - can I put a magnet on them?

2) If I use a rolling bag as a carry on, can I then use same bag as checked baggage on departure day? I can carry an extra luggage tag to attach before I leave it in the hallway.

Thanks!

If its carry on size, then you can carry it on or check it.

Doesnt matter, same as on a plane.

PS they give you a bunch of tags in your cabin to use if you decide to use relaxed departure and wait until after people do the carry all your bags off departure. You will get plenty of luggage tags, and if you have more, your steward will give you more. I think they give me 4?? could save the paper as I never use them.

I don't think the doors were metal, but am not 100% sure.

Luggage can be checked if you carry it on, you will be issued tags for debarkation. They are different than the ones you use to check your bags at embarkation.

Thanks. I'm carrying it on because I will have my wine and soft drinks in it. But I was going to use it for dirty clothes and did not really want to carry it off. I'm just lazy and don't want to drag it with me if I don't have to.

Great! I think that answers that question, thank you!

Why would you want to put magnet on the door?

I'm hanging something on my door to leave notes to my 2 DS who are in a separate room as to what/where we are. And hoping they will do the same for me but I doubt that.....

There's always post-it's too. Though I would recommend sticking them on the mirror in thier room rather than the door. They'll probably fall off of the door.

I am pretty sure they are not... BUT looking back at some other posts (in other places) I remember what we did on our last Fantasy cruise.... Sidewalk Chalk! It writes on the door, you can make all kinds of designs and even leave notes... Plus when you've had a "few" your door is easy to find!

I have a magnetic dry erase board that I was thinking of using but if it's not going to stick to the door, then that won't work.

I thought about the post it notes but I really wanted to put something on the outside of my door because I don't know if they are going to go to the trouble to go into our room.

The sidewalk chalk is a good idea!

I've also seen people use butcher paper with a pen/marker tied to the door handle. It was kind of fun to walk by those rooms at the end of the week. Lots of late night messages that were pretty funny, lol. Stuff like "casino bar stole my pants, send help."

Not that your messages would be like these with your kids, but they were definitely entertaining, lol.

you will have to have something to take you last nite/morning things off ship. haven't you seem the story of the naked person leaving the ship?

I will have another bag. Was just going to use this one for dirty laundry. Believe me - not going to be leaving the ship naked! I'd love to see that story though!

Don't think the doors are metal. I know this because DH made fun of me when I took out the little magnatized hooks I bought to hand the sail and sign lanyards on and could not find anything in the whole room where they would stick! I got that idea from CC and thought it was brilliant. Not so brilliant in a Fantasy OV cabin!

Thanks for the info! I will have to go with another idea. Really wanted to use my dry erase board though!

Hi,

We just scotch taped a large poster and hung a pen. It was my Mom and Dads 60th anniversary, and this gave everyone an oppurtunity to write messages to them. We got congrats from almost everyone on our deck on our side of the ship. lol The poster had my parents photo from their wedding and their photo from their 50th anniversary. Both were photos in front of the Christmas tree as they were wed on Christmas Eve. This was a Christmas cruise also..lol

Plus, no problems finding our cabin... lol

Just use a bit of tape, and make sure to remove it.
