KJE Atlanta Posted October 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2011 I just noticed the new forward cabin design on the new artist rendering of the Breakaway. The old artist rendering showed balconies; the new one shows what looks like portholes instead.
david_sobe Posted October 8, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2011 I just noticed the new forward cabin design on the artist rendering of the Breakaway. New pics show what looks like portholes instead of balconies. It is similiar to Epic. Since these ships travel at a fast pace, it is not wise to have balconies in the front of the ship. The suites at the top appear to have floor to ceiling glass or a solarium.
CruisinMaterial Posted October 8, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2011 Good catch OP. I thought something looked different but until I saw your post I couldn't quite figure it out. Its probably for the better that the ship only has port holes out front because they are less likely to break than a solid door in the case of a large (dare I say rogue wave) similar to what happened on the Norwegian Dawn many years back now. Since she's going to be in the open Atlantic it is probably a much better idea then having to batten down the hatches every time there are rough seas like they do on the Jewel class ships. Rare mitsugirly Posted October 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 9, 2011 Great catch. I kept thinking that "something" looked different but couldn't put my finger on it. :)
